After I watched this General George S Patton rose from the grave, slapped me on the back and gave me a Pabst Blue Ribbon, I grew 3 inches of chest hair and 5 inches taller, and a Bald Eagle came down from the sky and dropped a Colt M1911A1 on my lap. Also those shells plopping down into the snow is the most randomly satisfyingly thing I have seen in 2021 so far.

It was used early on in the Pacific war but in the harsh tropical conditions was hideously unreliable so it was quickly phased out. It did go on to do well on the civilian and law enforcement market though.

It's also one of the least expensive (albeit that's a relative term) machine guns on the NFA transferable market in the US because nobody knows about it. About half the price of a thompson ($10k vs $20k to $25k)

I love how the hot spent shells sink into the snow. Had that happen demonstrating my M1 Carbine last week in Louisiana when we had that big snowstorm (and it’s hard to find them under the snow and ice)

My dad was an authority on the Thompson . He was promoted to Sargent after his move through the Hedge row country by Patton and his officers. Dad shot it three times and handed it back. The firearm he purchased after the war for home protection and hunting was a Remington model 11. He was a marksman and any firearm that was more effective was the Model 11. He wished he had one in his gun squad.

The BAR show is not the ww2 pattern you can tell because it is missing the metal guide for the magazine the carry handle and the bipod so the BAR show is most likely an m1918a1 because of the style of hand guard. Edit: just for someone who is wondering the ww2 pattern was the m1918a2
