Ahh the 1980's Ninja craze..I remember this movie and it was one of many ninja movies that i loved and grew up watching..Dudikoff played this role very well along with Steve james.

Tadashi Yamashita played Seikura in The Octagon alongside Chuck Norris. He also appears in the beginning of American Ninja 5 (which is an unrelated film originally entitled Twin Dragons). 🤔

Michael Dudikoff (the American Ninja here) also played a goon who got killed by the hero in the movie Enter the Ninja (the movie with Sho Kosugi where the hero was a white costumed ninja). I guess all the big action stars have to pay their dues. LOL

The only opponent who gave joe a fight, Black Star Ninja, the other Ninja Bosses in part 2 and 4 were so crap and easy, he disposed of them within minutes without getting touched not even once!

This is the only boss fight where Joe had trouble. In the final fight, Black Star Ninja only got the upper hand briefly with his cord trip on the roof. Actually, Tojo Ken lasted longer than Black Star Ninja when sword fighting against Joe. Joe was also more experienced, when he fought Tojo Ken. Super Ninja did put a good fight against Joe. He got a few hits in on Joe and almost broke his arm. Love the way Joe broke Super Ninja’s back with a hard kick (sending him onto boxes of explosives) and blew him up with a grenade. Of course, watching both Black Star Ninja and Tojo Ken puke up blood after being fatally stabbed by Joe was great. 😉

00:58 "uh... am I doing this shit right? It kinda 'looks' right..." This flick is still classic! Best 80's ninja movie. Dudikoff was intense and Black Star Ninja was just savage! Great fight and sword choreography, not too much gratuitous ninja flipping, and boat loads of confused "ninjas in training" getting their asses whacked.

The first movie isnt actually that bad, for being an 80's ninja flick that is. The franchise just turned sour when they milked it for everything it was worth by making a bunch of really lousy sequals.

I think the wire cutters were insulted. With the power gone, he would’ve been safe to touch both wires. Would’ve been a funny epic fail if he was wrong and electrocuted himself. 😆

It is because of this scene that all jails, military and civilian, are required to have a ladder right next to the gate for prisoners to escape in case of a ninja attack.
