Here's the deal, SHUT DOWN is not only a message to their haters, the group is "Shutting the Doors" on their earlier music videos and moving on to the next level. That's why you see scenes from their older videos (like the tank from DDU-DU DDU-DDU), at the end of the video they get onto an elevator and press UP, coming out onto a hallway with a new set of doors, which represents their new music.

When they perform in Japan, they sing the songs in Japanese (instead of Korean) and rap in English. So, the video in Tokyo Dome was in Japanese and English.

I dont think the tank in their original video meant anything that I am aware of, but in Shutdown, they brought back old “props” and scenes from previous videos- like the tank, and Rose swinging on the earth, etc.

The Lambo and the tank is a show of their power and strength. They're flexing because they've been at the top from day one, and they're reminding the other K-Pop groups of it.

Nice reaction. The meaning of the tank is 2 things, 1) the dark Black savage side combined with Pink cute/pretty side, a common theme in Black pink songs. And 2) it is one of dozens of call back Easter eggs in this song from earlier MVs. Google ; BlackPink Shut Down easter eggs to see them all. They have a new song out recently for BlackPink The Game, a new mobile game. The OST for the game is called The Girls. In animation form the girls talk more shit about their success. Has the best rap lines from Lisa yet. Their closest competitor IMO is a group called XG. See XGALX Zypher and/or Girl Gang.

They only rap in Korean and English. The tank represents that they are powerful. In Ddu-ddu-du, they say that "I already bought your wish list" while the tank crushes the shopping bags. In this song it is only a reference to the first one, like many other references there are.
