This is my second time watching a Al Murray video. I’ve learned a lot about Al Murray since my first video and he is a brilliant guy. To be able to remember the dates to do many different events that have taken place is mesmerizing.

If you major in history, you learn lots of dates. And he's practiced his answer to EVERY SINGLE country.

He stood for election to be a member of parliament. He did a Ted Talk afterwards (as himself not the pub landlord) it is worth watching and will give you an insight to how British elections work. I think there is video on youtube, should be one on Ted Talks page.

Al Murray is a funny and knowledgeable guy but he knows the British suffered some humiliating defeats in the Middle East. They were driven out of Palestine in 1948 and Egypt in 1956 by the Suez crisis.

Al Murray's road to Berlin is a good one (it's a straight documentary series) He did a show about Germany too but I can't remember what it's called.

I think he mixed up Uganda with another country... Maybe Burkina Faso too.... I don't think either were ever colonised by Germany... Uganda was a British protectorate or something at one point, I think... Burkina Fasp was a French one... Assuming he prepared something for every country though, I can't really hate on him for getting anything wrong and it's still pretty funny... It'd be cool to hear his correction, but oh well ^_^;; I wouldn't have known without seeing someone else mentioning it and then double checking.

Really stupid title. I name Afghanistan! Britain never did get one over on that country. They keep getting driven out.The Afghans also saw the Russians off, both the empire and the Soviets, and nobody has ever been able to best them, That is the whoile reason why Afghanistan exists.

Britain won the Second Anglo-Afghan War 1878-80, so who is the "stupod" one now?

@@ak99uk Britain got kicked out of Afghanistan, just like every other invader who thougfht it ripe for colonisation. Afghanistan never was a British, Russian or indeed anyone's' colony. Oh, and thanks for spotting my little typo, as if that means anything regarding Britain's many failures in Afghanistan.

They did win a war though, so Afghanistan was defeated and the title still works.

@@quno5174 But never conquered. No notches left on the queen's bedpost. It remains true that Afghanistan has never been conquered, newver been successfully colonised. Britain and Imperial and Soviet Russia all tried, and all failed.
