I dunno that Ann Marie ever thought about flirting with the puppeteer. Let’s just say Jamie Dunn landing a role where he hides under the desk is the only tv role he could possibly land. You should absolutely check out some of the stuff that didn’t get to air. They had a lot of fun.

Yep you're right - I wish that he'd get it right too. I knew them both way back in the day when working for ABC TV. These clips are 'tame' when compared to the Christmas tapes that we used to share between the stations. In fact they got so wild that they were banned from being produced and circulated among the big 4 stations at the time. Am not being rude but something tells me that this particular podcast isn't going to go too far... Cheers.

I grew up with agro, first time i seen agro was on Boris the black knight, Boris breakfast club. Agro is the rudest most insulting puppet on TV i love him. I also think you should check out Kevin bloody Wilson Santa song.

Ann Maree said in an interview that she and Jamie had the ability to preempt what each other was going to do and she said that if you can do that then that's half of the battle won. The adult jokes she said they called formula one jokes for they went straight over the kids but the adults got them. Ann Maree also said that the show couldn't be done today because we were so politically incorrect. Some think that Jamie Dunn was "feeling up" Ann Maree up under the table but all he had to do was touch her ankle and she'd jump. There was nothing but utter respect between the two of them. Ann Maree was on the show from 1989-1995. She got bored with doing the same thing and wanted to try new things so that's why she left. But the chemistry that she and Jamie had working together couldn't be replicated by other presenters and the show went down in the ratings. Jamie said that only thing that killed Agro off was Covid 19. To this day Jamie carries Agro around in the boot of his car and if people recognise him he does photo with them and Agro. Agro's voice is not Jamie's normal way of speaking. An adults only show was going to be done but the awful political correctness had it cancelled. Ann Maree is now 62 and when not working as a reporter spends time at home with her family.

Anne-Marie went on to do a couple of TV shows such as The Great Outdoors and In Melbourne Tonight and reported on Good Morning Australia and 9am with David & Kim. I can't find anything after 2009.

Agro's Cartoon Connection was the best kids show. Sometimes the cartoons would bore me and id be hanging for the intermission 😄 watched Agro every morning before school and my brother even won some of the comps. Amazing chemistry, but the pupeteer and her were purely good friends.

That was weird for a kids show. As you said, Agro walked a well trodden path of "Blonde Jokes". I hope she got well paid. Being 'Dissed' by a piece of carpet needs money. It's pronounced 'ag gro' (as in being angry) not 'ar go'. The G is before the R. No. Ann Marie was not helping to setup the majority of jokes in advance, it was largely impromptue. No One ever really knew what Agro was going to say when the cameras started to roll until he actually said it. The show was live at 6am and no one truly knew what was going to happen. Worked in the industry at the time, knew them both, it was a cutting edge, legendary, and freaking hilarious show to be associated with. It debuted in the 80's, not 90's, when Ann Marie was just 16 years old. Jamie Dunn wasn't just the puppeteer, he was also a Producer and the show was his concept. The brilliant Jamie Dunn never intended to play the roll Agro. In fact he didn't even know that he was to become the voice of Agro until the night before the 1st ever show aired when the 'original' voice of Agro pulled out of the show the night before. These two are an example of PERFECT CASTING. Anne Marie’s brilliance is understated. The chemistry between these two is so obvious. .. Apart from Argo… Anne Marie’s comic performance is outstanding.
