Dimash current vocal range is 7 octaves and one semi tone including growl and whistle tone (C#1 - D8). But keep in mind, this is only,what he shows to us,in reality probably much more wider. He released his first digital album last summer, which became platinum only in 37 seconds and 3× platinum in one hour! He is a huge fan of MJ as well by the way. He sings 12 - 14 languages, plays 7+ music instruments, he composed many beautiful songs. And he is tall - 6'3 (191 cm). He have fallowers all over the world, fanbases in 120+ countries. Ok, forgive my English if I make mistakes but here is a bit of context for anyone wondering: this song, "SOS d'un terrien en détresse", is a French song which was originally sung by an artist called Daniel Balavoine who composed it back in 1978 I believe. This song talks about the puzzlement of not understanding how the world works, of dreams of travelling, of change, of feeling different than the rest of the world. This version, the one Dimash is singing, is from another artist called Grégory Lemarchal who suffered from cystic fibrosis, a genetic condition which affects the lungs, liver, pancreas and intestine. He died back in 2007 in the hospital while waiting for a lung transplant at the age of 23. I don't know for other countries but in France and Belgium Grégory was a rising star, and even though everyone knew he was sick, people were still very shocked and grieved for him. I REALLY recommend to go listen to Grégory's version, it's absolutely PHENOMENAL. Edit: the title can literally be translated to "SOS from a distressed earthling".

This song barely scratches the surface of what this guy can do. If you choose to be blown away by other Dimash performances I recommend the following: "Olimpico" ) aka ("Ogni Pietra"), "Your Love," "Across Endless Dimensions" and "Adagio" (the 2017 performance on The Singer).

He was, sort of, competing, but not the way we do it here; it was in China, and the "winner' was pre-chosen. So Dimash came in 2nd. But at the same time, this performance, that night, resulted in him exploding into fame, over billions of fans. The night of this performance, he went to bed a singer. When he awoke in the morning and was going to leave the hotel, up popped the Security Guards he hadn't had the night before. They now were Required Equipment. He was FAMOUS. This performance is basically the one that has and is catapulting him to fame. I attended his concert this past December in New York, and hearing and seeing him live is ethereal. As has been said, Dimash is a huge Michael Jackson fan, and not only covers some of his songs, but actually composed a song as a tribute to MJ. That song is called "Give Me Your Love." There is a Dear (what he calls his fan base) here in the states that knew of Dimash's adoration of MJ's music. She had an autographed poster from MJ, and decided she wanted Dimash to have it, as she knew he would cherish it. When she took it out of the frame to give it to him at his concert in Moscow she realized he not only signed it, but also dated it. The date on that poster is 5/24/94. Coincidence, fate, destiny, divine intervention, or whatever you want to call it, that date is the day Dimash was born. Did you actually hear his last note? It was sublime at how he opened his voice up at the last second or two. This is, to date, Dimash’s best rendition of SOS. It is pure and totally lyrical. And though he has other excellent performances of this song, this version is the definitive one. I have listened to this literally hundreds of times because every time I hear a new version, I go back to this, because it is perfect!

Dearest Dimash is singing in 12 different languages, plays 5 instruments etc. EVERY SONG IS SPECIAL AND UNIQUE.6 octaves man. No one on Earth can do it whistle like he does. 89th note doesn't exist on the piano. Kazakstan 24 songs are one of the kind. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Every song leaves me feeling like I just watched an entire concert. Amazing. One reactor commented that Dimash songs could probably cure depression. I don't usually get into operatic music, even though I appreciate the skill. But Dimash does something with it that has me listening to every song and watching reactors like a crazy person. I kept seeing him pop up in my reccommendations, but I ignored it for awhile bc I thought he was KPop. Lol. Wrong.

Hey FYI Dimash is a huge Michael Jackson fan. He's 22 years old here and he's from Kazakhstan. This was the first episode of a singing contest in China for famous singers in China. Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian and has started getting better at English. However at the time when this was filmed (2017) he could only speak a few words in English and pretty much no Chinese. The song SOS was the first episode and it was in French. I recommend reacting to the second episode which is called "Opera2" and is in Russian. Third episode if you make it that far is in English and is a Queen song called "Show Must Go On". I subscribed hoping that you do more Dimash! Thanks for the video!

He is the best singer in the world without a doubt. This song is from a French Rock Opera from 1978 and only a free singers can reach the heights of the octave range it was written in.
