The days with Frankie Boyle on Mock the week cannot be beaten, none of the comedians held back then!!

They actually cancelled this show because they stopped doing a lot of these really edgy jokes and the viewship went down because of it. It became a very safe show which people weren't interested in so that's why they cancelled it. Also FYI Frankie Boyle stopped being a part of Mock the Week many years before it got cancelled. He does a lot of British/European jokes so I don't blame you if you don't understand a lot of his jokes!

I think what makes Frankie Boyle’s humour on Mock the Week work in these segments is that the context and set up make it clear that the jokes are about objectively bad things, essentially hypothesising on the worst possible scenario in order to deliver shock humour without it being mistaken as their earnest opinion. I miss the old mock the week

There was the best Frankie part forgotten in Rejected Lines From Doctor Who...with Frankie doind a Dalek poetry reading... That one still cracks me up...

It lost a lot when Frankie left. A hell of a lot. It's a surprise it later till '22 without him.

Mock the Week wasn't stopped because of Frankie, he hasn't been on it in years. These are some good bits though.

The funny thing about that haunted pussy joke is that it actually became a topic on our national news because it was getting so many complaints. I think it was around this point that they started to cut out alot of Frankies best jokes which is what led to him eventually leaving the show. It was never as good without him.

I've written for MtW and other BBC comedy. The reason that it was canceled was that the BBC is meant to be impartial to all political intervention. However in the last 5-10 years that the UK has had a Tory government, they've forced their influence into it and the current person running the BBC is a long standing member of the Conservatives. It's a very sad state when the BBC cannot satirise the sitting government. It's Orwelian.

Mock the Week carried on long after Frankie left. They cancelled it because something to do with the storylines in the news being too repetitive and ridiculous i think!

Comedy shouldn't be restricted, there are 1 or 2 subjects that make me feel uncomfortable being joked about, but it's my responsibility to either listen or not listen to them, as there will be many others who can still have a good laugh at the same jokes.

No they cancelled Frankie on the show years before the programme ended there was less public interest in the programme that’s why it stopped but it only came off air last year but Frankie Boyle has a tv programme on air called World Order which roasts pretty much everyone it’s good
