Paul was a really nice guy, very down to earth. I met him when we took some wolves to his show on ITV. Before the show, he came out to the area "backstage" where we had the wolves in their trailer. He was in his suit ready for the show, and he asked if he could see the wolves before they went on. He spent about 20 minutes sat on the floor in the straw inside the door of their trailer talking to them and asking all sorts of questions about them. Genuinely interested in everything about them. He even donated a fairly large sum to the charity for their upkeep. As one of the Handlers I was there out front behind the cameraman during the show for "safety". I will say, that wolves are VERY good judges of character :) . I have a clip from the show here on my YT page - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rcqArNWqp8m4po0.htmlsi=XQC3D-e03jkZ5PUg if you want to watch it.

Awwww Paullllllll - 😥😥😥😥😁 miss him soooo very very much….. such a brilliant entertainer who always ‘said it’ as it actually was - always spoke the truth - but was a completely honest and decent human being whose love of animals was true and genuine and not just to make “popular telly progs”. RIP Paul - you were well loved and you are so missed “down here” 😢🥲🥲

Pure Paul, no airs and graces, said it as it was. I hope he and Cilla Black are having a riot wherever they are. Cilla despite wanting to be remembered for her singing mainly in the 60's/70's (a Liverpudlian and friend of The Beatles) was an entertainer/TV host in her own right. Although after the death of her husband Bobby she met and struck up a friendship with Paul and they were like a couple of mischievous teens. Cilla died suddenly in 2015 aged 72.

Whenever I think of Paul O'Grady I think of Julian Clary, both very risky but both hilarious, even though Paul has gone I am thankful that we still have Julian but I do believe that Julian's jokes are so risky that the TV companies are worried about what he is going to say on air

Yes, but bizarrely it was Julian himself who started to develop panic attacks when performing live, after his (in)famous 'Norman Lamont' comment. It's funny that Richard Madeley is in this, because I believe he was there, at least I remember him saying something like 'the kids will have a new word to talk at school tomorrow!' For some reason that didn't happen at my school, and I didn't learn what it meant until years later!
