3:35 it is infact in US. They were playing in legends league recently there to promote cricket. It was mostly played by retired GOAT cricketers

@@rezaulkarim-py2gn Although in fairness to Shoaib if the batsman went down hit, especially on the head, he always run up to check that he was ok. He was a good sportsman.

They've changed helmet design several times because of the danger of bouncers - an Australian international player actually died during a state vs state match a few years ago which was a similar blow to the one Brian Lara received in the last one shown in this video. RIP Philip Hughes.

You may also want to check out Brett Lee's (equally quick as Shoaib) bouncers, he has a longer list of brutal bouncers since he is an Aussies and played more on bouncy tracks where as Akhtar stands out because he was generating such pace on slower Asian Tracks. The one that flew over the keeper was in Australia known for the fastest tracks.

Yes you are right, that is US' baseball stadium converted into a temporary cricket pitch where all the retired legends of the game were playing an exhibition match like an all stars match from different countries all together to promote cricket in USA. During this match pretty much majority of the players had retired for like almost a decade. Hence players were quite old but it was nostalgia for us to watch them play again having grown up watching them. Hence to bowl a bouncer at that age where you need to give in your back to bowl a bouncer is mad respect for him. You can't bowl a bouncer unless you are willing to bend your back and him bowling a superb bouncer at that age just shows how good he must have been in his prime.

Brian Lara is the luckiest to survive that nasty bouncer because only a small percentage of people survive after getting hit by that bouncer. I was listening to this match commentary on radio and the Indians 🇮🇳 were saying " Shoaib Akhtar is spewing fire today", and after a few moments heard that Lara got hit 😢. Amazing reaction❤

The one where the batsman got it in the ribs.........Batter name is Ganguly .....he had pads covering his body which normal batsmen dont wear. He was wearing elbow pad thigh pad and rib cage pad too (i am not sure about the last one but he certainly started wearing those too after that). But the thing is Ganguly did complete the game. And perhaps the bravest batsman ever to face shoaib, because not once but multiple time he got hit.

The first one is legendary because the batter was "Brian Charles Lara". Who's arguably one of the greatest batters of all time.

Brain Lara the batter who faced or i say necked the bouncer at #1 was the guy about, people assumed back in days" Lara is able to see the cricket ball coming as the size of a football " because he was that good in his game and unfortunately that fateful day he had to bat against the Shoaib Akhtar and rest is history.

4th was from exhibition match which was played by retured legends who were 40+ and 50+ olds. Shoiab was laughing because he still had gun bowler in him and batsmen who faced the ball smiled as well.

The last one was nastier and a similar bouncer on the back of the head took life of a young Aussie international in a domestic match. Since then helmets come with rear guards as well. Btw all these batsmen hit by Akhtar were some of the best ever, not some unknown guys. List includes Lara (#1), Ponting who were among the big 3 along with Sachin in 90s and 2000s, then there is Kallis (equally good batsmen, can be among big 4 if we include him), others on the list are Gary Kirsten (#2) - the great south african opener, Azharuddin, Watson and Ganguly all among the most prolific batsmen of their times.

@4 Minute #4 bouncer was in an exhibition match for promotion of cricket in US. All players playing are legends of cricket retired by that time and still Shoaib was bowling that fast. 2024 - first round of T20 WC is in US, Go and Watch India vs Pakistan match, it will be a memory for a lifetime. 2028 US Olympics - Cricket included in Olympics again

I also don't enjoy seeing batsmen getting hit. There are other bumpers which dismiss the batter ,caught trying to defend the lifting ball or taking evasive action and getting caught.Those are some of the best deliveries possible but somehow don't warrant highlights reels.

When a fast bowler bowl the Speed of the ball is around 150 km/h. Then the batter must need to protect their head and wear helmet. Shoaib akhter is the fastest bowler in the cricket history bowl around 162 km/h of speed.

Guys, at No 2 of these bouncers, batsmen was great Garry Kirsten , South Africa. Right now, he is Pakistan’s cricket teams white ball cricket coach. We respect him so much. But sports is sports. Bouncers are to scare the batter, not hurt him but sometimes when they are struck, they could be life threatening. Pakistan pace bowlers have been a nightmare for batters all across the globe for so long and are still. USA will watch it first hand this time during T20 cricket World Cup.

Yeah I have found a good video of his highlights. Before that a short brief about him. He's a complete bowler of the century. If you watch UFC he's like jon Jones of bowling. He's got everything sheer pace, swing, bouncers, Yorkers, best action. He's only fast bowler who's equally successful in subcontinent pitches(India, Pakistan, srilanka Bangladesh). Most fast bowler dominates in south africa, England, Australia, new zealand pitches. Coz in south africa the pitch has lot of grass so ball bounces high, in Australia pitch it contains lot of clay so it bounces high, England it's always cloudy so the atmospheric pressure is high so the ball swings so much for fast bowlers. So these pitches fast bowlers always dominate but in subcontinent wickets it's mostly red soil and always dry and humid so it's more helpful for spinner since the ball grip on dry surface and turn a lot off the ground. There won't any help for fast bowlers. Most legend fast bowler has poor record in India. But Steyn is the only bowler who has equally stats in both pitches. I've sent the video link check it out.

@@RealFansSports yeah just looked it up, this was all stars exhibition series retired stars played in 2015 to promote the game in America. This game was at Citi field New York and they also played a game at Minute Maid Park Houston, and Dodger stadium LA. Shoaib Akhtar was a few years retired by this time but showed he still had it!
