Toowoomba Salmon!! Toowoomba is a Queensland city that is located many miles from the coast, virtually on top of the Great Dividing Range and is seen as the gateway to the inland area of the Darling Downs. The last Salmon to grew up in the Toowoomba area had probably died around the time that Australia split off from Antarctica and the rest of Pangea, then started moving North. One would have a better chance of getting real Tahoe Lobster from the menu as ordering real Toowoomba Salmon.

Cob loaves are an old party/entertaining staple in Aus. There's endless filling options. If you ever feel like making. Heres just two ideas. Mexican inspired cob Toppings (optional) Sour cream Guacamole Tasty cheese Lime Coriander Corn chips Cucumber and capsicum sticks Salsa 2 large tomatoes Bunch coriander 1 red onion 1 red capsicum Filling 250g beef mince 1 brown onion finely diced 1tsp smoked paprika 1stp garlic powder 1 tin black beans Step 1 To prepare your cob, start by slicing the lid off carefully. Once removed, pull out the filling of the cob so that there is plenty of room inside to add all of the meat and bean mixture. Set aside Step 2 To make the salsa, dice the fresh ingredients and combine in a bowl with salt and lime juice to taste Step 3 Heat 1tbs oil in a pan and add diced onion. Stir until translucent and then add the ground beef Step 4 Once the beef has browned add the garlic powder, smoked paprika and the tin of drained and rinsed beans. Stir gently for 5-10 minutes or until all the meat is cooked through and the beans are warm Step 5 Spoon the mince mixture into the cob and add grated cheese while the mince is still hot. Add the salsa and toppings to taste Step 6 Optional: Lightly brush the discarded cob filling with butter and toast under grill until crisp! Cheesy bacon cob. 1 cob loaf 4 bacon rashers, finely chopped 2 tsp smoked paprika 1 tbsp olive oil 1 brown onion, finely chopped 1 garlic clove, crushed 250g cream cheese, softened 300ml thickened cream 1 tsp Dijon mustard 2 spring onions, thinly sliced 1 1/2 cups (180g) coarsely grated tasty cheddar Chopped flat-leaf parsley, to serve Step 1 Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Step 2 Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add bacon and paprika and cook, stirring, for 5 mins until bacon is crisp and brown. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel. Step 3 Heat oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, for 3 mins or until onion softens. Stir in two-thirds of the bacon. Remove from heat. Step 4 Place the cream cheese, cream and mustard in a large bowl and stir until almost smooth (there will be some lumps). Add the onion mixture, half the spring onion and 11/4 cups (150g) of the cheddar and fold until combined. Step 5 Use a serrated knife to cut 4cm from the top of the loaf. Remove the bread from the centre of the loaf, leaving a 2cm-thick shell. Tear the bread centre and lid into 3cm pieces. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the bread shell. Top with remaining cheddar. Place on the prepared tray and arrange the bread pieces around the loaf. Bake for 20 mins or until golden. Step 6 Sprinkle with the reserved bacon, remaining spring onion and parsley to serve.

Dare coffee, is Cold coffee mix with milk, what we call iced coffee, and most of us LOVE it. We have like 10 different brands of them. Farmers Union Iced Coffee in South Australia is sooo addictive that I avoid it. I have had friends so dependent on Farmers Union Iced Coffee that they have been found lying in gutters semi-conscious, like beached whales, (Farmers Union Iced Coffee is full of sugar), that the road to recovery is a long and slow process. Treatment requires a lengthy regime of kale smoothies and carrot juice. Not a pretty sight.

We only stayed a National parks, when you step outside in the morning you were surrounded by kangaroos, when we went to the Wilpena Pound South Australia, I saw a HUGE big red kangaroo fighting with a dingo, the kangaroo held the Dingo it its small front paws sat back on its tail and ripped the guts out of the Dingo with it’s back feet, very confronting for a 13 year old, but most of out adventures were fabulous.

Maccas sells frozen coke etc, cause our summers are HOT. Make it at home, Take a plastic bottle of coke, open it and have some to make a space, put the lid back on. Put it in the freezer, my sister used to put 3 litre bottles in so her 3 kids, and 2 were boys, Hollow legs and all that, could pig out on it after school, they loved it. Other flavours work too. Do some testing? Does the aussie cookbook you have, show you a potato bake? Sliced thin potatoes, garlic powder, small bacon batons. Cheddar cheese grated and cream. What's not to love in there. Layer it up, deep lasagne pan, pour in the cream to fill any gaps, let it sit 20 mins, or cover in fridge and cook it next day, air bubbles can be a problem, bake slow 1 hour. Put a fork in to make sure it's cooked through. Cover with foil to stop browning if it gets too dark. Serve with a very large spoon. Have it with meat, and salad, either roast, fried or bbq. If cream is not your thing, use 1 can thick canned white soup, add milk to thin it. For lamingtons, You can use a plain cake mix, gluten free if you need that. Try freezing straight away, after making, they do get quite hard quickly, without gluten. Bake in a flat pan and make chocolate icing thin, cut squares, use 2 forks to coat in icing then dessicated cocoanut. A relative needs gluten free food, his wife puts frozen ones in his lunch.

I was craving a Dare Iced Coffee when I was in the US, so my friend took me to the local WAWA. Ice coffee really isn't a thing there, I found about 4 or 5 different brands, poked in together way up to the top of the fridge, away from line-of-sight, and NONE of them tasted remotely like the iced coffee we get here. Mostly, they were wishy-washy, and/or in tiny, tiny cans, not the rich, luxuriously smooth stuff we get here. To be fair, there was plenty of other, awesome foodstuffs we don't have here as well. LOVED Bob Evans breakfast steak and (white) sausage gravy! Yum. I found Vegemite and custard powder at Wegners in the International aisle, Australian section.

I went to an outback steakhouse in Brisvegas a few years back. It wasn't bad, food was okay, service was impeccable, but it really wasn't anything to write home about.

You should try a ned kelly pie. basically a single serve pie shell with mince to taste & a raw egg in the middle. cover with tastey cheese then bake. tastes great.

Best part about it is that Gordon Ramsay got to try our meat and veggies and as you could see on his face it's delicious, I know the US tends to have processed parts in nearly everything they make so if you ever visit you'll get the chance to taste 100% real meats and veges lmao

Now that you've acquired a taste for beetroot Ian you should try it on a sanga with Vegemite. Guarantee you've never tasted anything like it!

There are gluten-free Tim Tam's so she did miss out. The Cobb dip is awesome. You keep tearing away the bread from the Cobb and dip and eat. It's the bomb. And no clean up because you eat the bowl. Oow, those waterfalls are where I live! Though, the one the chick was sliding down is called Josephine Falls and locals don't usually swim there without a spotter. It's super dangerous because you can't see the water that's coming from further up on the mountains. It floods very quickly and people have been trapped or even died there.

lemon Juice and pepper on top of the avo, not extra oil. lemon juice to cut through the creamyness of the avo. If you have Caribbean jerk spice, use that instead of black pepper.

I sometimes saw a kangaroo hopping down suburban streets when I lived on the north east outskirts of Perth. There was the occasional emu walking about too. Now I live in Wollongong and we have one of the handful of Outback Steakhouses here. It’s at a place known locally as “cholesterol corner” because of the number of fast food places located there. Apart from Outback Steakhouse there’s Maccas, Red Rooster, Hungry Jacks and Subway all five in a row, sharing a carpark and KFC is on the next corner. Cob loaf has been a popular ‘take a plate’ dish since the 1970s, what you would call a pot luck dish I think. There are several recipes, all cheesy, creamy, savoury and delicious.

A few years ago I had a Kangaroo roast I purchased at the Grocery store, It was put in a freezer bag for the trip home then straight into the fridge, later that day it was put tin the oven. That afternoon for 3 hours I thought I was dying. Sitting on the Loo and a bucket under my face. A trip in the ambulance to the hospital showed I had food poisoning. The Kangaroo meat was to blame. Now cant even look at that meat.

Cob loafs are sensational. There are literally dozens of different fillings. You should get Danni to google some, then do a video of her making one for you. The bacon and cheese is probably the most popular

5:52 The problem here at the moment is the "Beetroot shortage" very little on the shelves. Might have to grow my own. Along with the eggs and expensive pineapples that are as small as hand grenades. It is all good.

3:18 I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2018. I control it with diet. When you reduce carbohydrate intake you reduce you vitamin B complex vitamins. Vegemite has the vitamin B complex vitamins and has no sugar or carbohydrate. Just use different grains like rye bread or rye cruskits and you are set. Don't forget the cheese or butter , fat is flavour and life is flavour. I told the Doctor and she said I think you are onto it. I also said I was having liver bacon and onions for breakfast. She frowned , maybe she doesn't like liver. Done right it is great.

FYI _Shrimp and prawns have plenty of similarities, but they are not the same animal. Shrimps come from the northern hemisphere and prawns come from the southern hemisphere. Dolphin bodies are leaner, and porpoises’ are portly, Dolphins come from the northern hemisphere and porpoises come from the southern hemisphere.
