You definitely can´t walk across Prague in 1 hour. JUst cross the Charles Bridge take you a half of it goings trought the crowd! Prague is full of museums, music and art. But there is definitely more than Prague in Czechia. We are the country with the most castles, chateaus and castle ruins per capita. About 2000 of them here. And there are more old preserve towns here, beautiful nature and, breweries, vineyards...

I am from Prague, and I love it, but I am not sure if someone who has been in every country can really know much about any of them, it feels like ticking boxes, probably with very short stops in many of them just to posture. btw: you definitely cannot walk across the city in one hour, you'd need to multiply that many times. I think it would be like 25km walk at least. He's probably just talking about the city centre, which is a small part of the actual city. Which again shows kind of a shallowness in his approach, even if he claims to have lived here.

One very interesting and fun fact about Prague is how often it is in movies branded as different European city.. Prague has been: Venice,Vienna,Warsaw,Berlin,London,Moscow,Bratislava,Zurich,Paris,Vatican,Amsterdam...If you've seen a movie taking place in Europe, chances are its actually Prague even if it says its not haha

I´m Czech, but I can´t handle how much crowded Prague become. I simply can´t handle it with my crowd phobia. However during covid restrictions I have made several trips to the capital and I have to admit, damn it´s beatiful! Unfortunately for me, crowds of turists had returned so I have to wait for another pandemic :D

Hi, just FYI, the footage is very old, I assume from 2012 or around - a lot of buildings have been renovated, new ones have been built, the Wenceslas square fully renovated, parking forbidden, National museum fully renovated, etc., the city look much more gorgeous these days.. And btw., Prague has been titled the most gorgeous city in the whole world in 2021..

nearly 20 years ago we, a ground of eleven friends and me, were stranded in prague at winter, after the train from slovakia was late and we missed the train back home to germany. So we spend the night in prague with another young passenger, called "the thirteenth". We all had an awesome night, in a lot of bars and puds, visiting the famous signs and bridges. It is one of the best memories i have. P.s. our group was at the age of 16 or 17 at this time with one girl at 18 , old enough to rent the residence in slovakia over new years.

I was born in Prague and I’ve been living here my entire life, and I had never found it so cool before I started traveling 5 years ago. It was just normal to me, and I even felt embarrassed in front of foreigners about those things that are not so nice, like dirt, buildings in bad condition, not perfect sidewalks and roads etc. Then I started to travel - to be honest only within Europe - and I saw each city has these things not to be proud of, so there’s no need to be ashamed, and I just realized that Prague is really one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Btw I don’t think it’s underrated, it’s pretty crowded with tourists, it would be just nice if they didn ´t see Prague as a place to get easily drunk (European tourists), or as a museum (tourists from the rest of the world).

Prague is also the No.1 location for bachelor parties. You can do loads of activities there in and around the city. We're heading there for one of my best friends bachelor party trip in two weeks😅

I'm from the UK. My brothers stag do was on Prague. And yes the night life is awesome. But there is so much more to the place. We got to do this wicked steel toboggan run up on the hills. Can't remember the name of the place but was awesome. Also got to fire real guns. This cracked me up. It was set in a backstreet pub. You can have a beer, watch the 2 minute safety vid, and then straight down to business and go fire the guns out back. Went in summer as well and was very hot. There's a lot of German tourists, they know all the best strip clubs lol ; )

I live in Prague and I think its really hard to say which city in Europe is the best. I love Lisabon, Rome and many others. But there is definitely something magical about Prague and I didnt met any tourist who doesnt like it. Btw Czech Republic is one of the safest country in the world, so its also really peaceful here.

Unfortunately a rule was introduced to stop beer being the cheapest drink on the menu. It used to be that you could buy half a liter of beer for less than the same amount of water. Which to this day makes me wonder how as beer is well mostly water with quite a bit of additional work being put into making it into beer, yet it was usually cheaper than water in bars and restaurants. Walk from one end to the other in about an hour maybe if you are Usain Bolt and do not ever need to stop running... Prague is not a large city by any stretch of the imagination but only the center you can cross from one end to the other in about an hour to really go from North to South or East to West you are going to be spending a lot more time than that. The longest metro ride takes a good hour and you never leave Prague. So it is a little bigger than the touristy center. Having lived in Prague for quite a few years now, it does not loose it charm though when you see it every day you tend to really need to make it a point to see the beauty as it does over time become normal.

I have lived there for five six years almost twenty years ago. I have lived in Paris, visited almost all the famous capital cities in Europe, and yes, there is only one Prague. Yet, I wouldn't be able to live there anymore. It has truly become more of a western city, which is not a bad per se, but it has already lost its magic touch for me. Still, I can drive to Prague within 90 mins and can go there pretty much any time I want to remind me of my younghood. Especially at night Prague is still the coolest and most beautiful city in Europe. And, most importantly, everyone's welcome in Prague.

Good one. There are some minor mistakes, but it gives away Prague's vibe pretty well. Plus: two important documents of our post-WW1 stateship are called "Pittsburgh Agreement" and "Washington Declaration", so we have a weak spot for visitors from the US.

I am not a fan of big cities, but I really enjoyed Prague. Lots to do and see, food and beer is fantastic. Cheap too.

Prague is definitely one of my favourite cities, XXX was shot in Prague too, but in the Czech Republic I much prefer the smaller villages. Prague is split up in 2 major parts, the new city and the old city, and even the new city is older than the USA. You would definitely find some awesome sites there.

Prague has really some special features which other cities don't have and most of Czechs don't realize that before they start traveling. Czech national sport is complaining, so you always here (from Czechs) how bad it is here and how terrible everything looks like and how nothing works, but in reality, when you visit some other countries and bigger cities in Europe, you mostly realize that life in Prague is really much better. Only thing which is problem in last years is fastly growing price of housing, it's starting to be really expensive with a Czech salary, but still, difference between Prague and other cities or even villages in prices is still not that big compared to how it is in some other countries, so even when you are from some village and you wife which also has salary (or some friend or whatever you live with) you can just move to Prague and you can hadle it, that's not possible in some other countries where rent of flat in capital city can be several times more expensive than in some other cities. But main advantages of Prague are: 1. Public transportation, really, people from Prague always complain, but they don't realize how superior it is to have year pass for few bucks and just travel without any barriers, it's so easy, simple and realxed compared to other cities where you have to constantly opening somes tupid gates and everything is complicated and everything is bothering you, you really don't need a car in Prague and many Praguers I know don't even have driver license 2. Many green places, parks, fields, forests and meadows even in center of Prague or when you want to visit actual forest, you just jump to metro and you are there in 15 minutes. And green places in Prague look more natural, which I like, it's not like all those fancy articifal parks which are surrounded by fences and locked at night, in Prague, you can find a lot of real wild nature which I like. 3. There is alwayas something happening - concerts, festivals, dozens of theaters and cinemas, street events, farmer markets, unlimited amount of pubs, bars, caffés, restaurants, when you don't like one place, you walk 50m and you find some other places, when you don't like prices in one supermarket, you just go to other one, it's so simple. And thank to big market competition, you can shopping in Prague for much better prices than in small cities or villages. I live in 3000 people city now, so I really know something about that, you can't even find bread here when you go to shops after like 3 PM, that will never happen to you in Prague. 4. Super easy traveling over Europe, especially to Germany, Austria or Poland, you just jump on train and you are in Dresden in 2 hours or in Berlin or Vienna in like 5 hours, you can sit in dinning car, having a lunch and beer and then you jump out of train in Berlin, it's so amazing. 5. Historical center can be pretty expensive, but good thing is that you don't have to go there at all, most of Praguers live in some other parts of Prague or in older commblocks, which are all renovated now and surrounded by greenery, you have everything there, so you really don't need to travel to "Disney land" in center if you don't want to. 6. Even when some small criminality can happen, like pickpocketing, Prague is generally very safe city, you will barely see some violent criminalty, there are a lot of pickpockets and cheaters, but that's in all bigger cities, if you are careful, nothing bad will happen to you, nobody will shoot you for few coins or something. 7. Things are getting better pretty fast, that change in last 15 years is massive. When I was kid, Prague looked dirty, everything was grey, buildings were dark from smog...now it looks better than many western cities and something interesting is always happening, new tram lines are in construction, new metro line in under construction, many cool things are planned. There is definitely much more, but these things are probably the most important. I live in a small citiy for 10 years and I really want to return to Prague for any price. My main reason are people, people in Prague just don't ask you where you got money for a new phone or something like in small city, I totaly hate that small city culture where everyone envy you everything and everyone is talking about you when you are not typical male who cares only about football, cars and fish hunting. In Prague, you can walk naked at street and nobody cares, which I like and you will find some interesting people everywhere, while here in a small city, everyone is behind their walls and when they leave, they are hidden in their cars, while people in Prague are walking a lot, going to pubs, visit museums and many other places and events, I just miss culture, people here in a small city are terrible rednecks, they consider everything a wasting money, you will not force them to go somewhere with no reason just to check what's there, they just don't do that, that's why I want back to Prague.

Were in prague with all last year clsses of our high school about 20+ years ago. Sadly almost all our teacher did was dragging us from one old (church)building to the next. Great impressive stuff but after 20 ones in one day it got... Plus people constantly trying to sell drugs to our class as a whole and our teacher got pickpoted twice in the tram. "Would you be so kind as to remove your hand from my pocket." Friendliest way I ever heared someone react in a situation like this and never seen anyone run so fast with my own eyes afterwards either... mfg Olli

Maybe independent-dependent oppinion to, why do you feel Prague (Czechia) the best Place. I share the feeling with you. I am originally born Czech, raised by Russians, grown-up in Afghanistan. In my life I worked mainly with cultures like Arabs, Indians, US, UK and again Rusians. I have three native languages (I mean I think and dream in three languages). After all these adventures I am back here in Czech Republic, happy to know, there is a place I can call home. There is personal and property safety at level not known even in Switzerland. Not due to strong law, but due to soft environment. Friendly people all around you. Not because they were told to be such, but they simply feel like this. Rules works not because the law is applied strictly, but because life flows like this.

Prague stole my heart when I visited 6 years ago, and since then I've been going to Prague annually. Such a beautiful and underrated city.

One correction about the beer - no, we haven't been brewing the same beer for a 1000 years. The "original" Pilsner was first brewed in 1842 by a German brewer Josef Groll, who was invited to take over a new brewery built in the town of Plzeň (Pilsen in German). This brewery was built because the locals got used to the imported Bavarian-style beers and wanted those instead of the beers brewed locally (which would consequently go bad and have to be poured out); hence the need for a new brewery which could brew those beers, and a brewer who knew how to brew them. This new process, together with the specifics of the local water and the wheat used in the brewing, worked to create the typical golden colour (which was unlike the muddy brown colour of the other beers available at the time). The brewery took advantage of that in their marketing thanks to the boom in the glasswork industry happening at the same time - they distributed shiny new *glasses* to pubs to replace the various mugs used at the time just so the customers could see the shiny gold of the Pilsner and compare it to the brown of all other beers, and it worked wonders.

The beer looks like Staropramen, we drank a few of those in a nice beer vault back then, along with some Becherovkas. By the way, people were not very friendly to us because we are Germans. But I also know what to think of Czechs and Slovaks.

I would also point out one fact about the Prague castle - not only its base is very old, from 9th century, but it is also the biggest ancient castle in the world! It's occupying area of almost 750.000 square feet and you would find this fact also in the Guiness book of records.

I live in Switzerland and i traveled in Prague 8 years ago. The city is small but very nice and one of my favorite cities here in Europe with awesome architecture. You know Prague was the home of the Bohemian empire.

Czech cuisine is great, you just have to know what to order. BTW: The Pilsner beer as we know it today is like 160 years old. The "1000 year old tradition" is mostly bull. Yeah, they were making "beer" in the 1100s, but it was very VERY different.

years ago when I got to some meetings with friends it was actualy q normal that when we got to a bar on old town (not in Prague but in Wroclaw - Poland) a group of adults who was supervising a group of teenagers would let 15 year olds to drink some beer, it was not huge beer but it was like a cup of coffee :) Normaly its 18 to be able to drink alcoholic things but as 15 is not much younger than 18 and they were in the company of adults and it was only beer, nothing stronger, we assumed that it was ok. :)

It is impossible to list here what all this clock can do or measure, because it is really a lot. If you want to know more it's better to look at wikipedia or something similar.

I've moved to Belgium 6 months ago from Portugal, besides already hear about Prague and wanting even more to go there. Here in Brussels I use a service that I can borrow a car from the street called Poppy. And Every time I drive a Skoda I get surprised of how they are good cars. Even when I compare to the Audis that I use as well.

Unfortunately, this competition in comparing cities is quite superficial and subjective. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's worse, on the contrary. Cheers to Bohemian cuisine and Bohemian beer! But then one may be allowed to ask why the Czechs drink so much beer. The Czechs themselves will not see it as cheaply as the Western Europeans. Everything else is the same price, only the Czechs earn less and many people therefore live in prefabricated buildings on the outskirts of the city and very few can afford their own car. The touristic sites of Prague are no better or worse than in Rome, London, Vienna, Paris.

Prague is hilly and is approximately 20 miles long from east to west. You can cross it in 4-5 hours, at best. Otherwise, nice video.

It takes an hour to cross a city of twenty by twenty-five kilometres, maybe by car, but certainly not on foot. Only Prague 1 (most of the historical centre) can be crossed on foot in an hour, where the author pretends as if it were the whole of Prague, but in reality only 20,000 people live there. The other two million live either in the surrounding ugly concrete housing estates or villages. And even in that historic center, the beautiful historic buildings mostly from the 19th century are continually being demolished and replaced by modern glass and concrete horrors with "global" architecture that don't fit the center. And of course the author doesn't mention the reason for the relatively low prices (it's the same as in the Congo, for example). And if someone wants to find a yet undiscovered gem, they remembered a little too late, because about 100,000 tourists come to Prague, a city of 1.5 million, every week.

Unfortunately, many Czechs are completely unaware of how great a country we have and keep complaining...
