Jollibee is the super power of emotional commercials. I don't know who they have writing their scripts but they all deserve raises.

Many people I see reacting to this commercial gets confused about the "My son is gone" part... but that is Paul's mom telling Anne that he's gone. She had a different voice.

NO!! Anne didn't go to College with her son. That was Paul's Mother telling Anne that her son Paul was gone. It was 4 years later that she was finally able to let her BOYFRIEND Paul go and Love Jay. I thought since you speak both languages you would get that it was Paul's Mother talking to Anne saying the doctors tried everything but couldn't save Anne's boyfriend Paul.

@@tagalogkurt Imagine you got to know me and fell in Love. You imagine us getting married and me giving you children for us to raise. One day before we got married I was killed by a drunk driver. Years later you meet another woman who eventually makes you feel the same about her. You would still think about me but you would have a chance to start a family with the new woman. You would have to CHOOSE whether you wanted just memories of me or also a life with the new woman. THAT is the CHOICE Anne had to make! 😉😉💓💓

Do you know Kurt, that the original brand that came up with these heartfelt ads was McDonald's Philippines. McDo PH's adverts were has a nuanced and subtle approach than Jollibee ones but equally heart-wrenching and moving. While Jollibee's storyline were a little bit stretched and theatrical, McDo's commercials were based upon touching real-life moments, subtle but impactful. McDo PH started it and several other brands including Jollibee followed...it's an effective way to capture the attention and emotion of the masses. It's a great marketing style.
