A funny Opening name but a stellar tactical game! 🎯
American Champion Harry Nelson Pillsbury may have been the strongest player in the world in the late 1800s but today he is hardly known.
Coming from Boston, Mass, Pillsbury won the 1895 Hastings Tournament ahead of Lasker, Steinitz, Tarrasch and Chigorin.
This game is from Cambridge Springs in 1904, Pillsbury defeats World Champion Emanuel Lasker is picturesque style.

Great Game! I compare The Opening in Chess with The Serve in Tennis. A great Serve does not guarantee success in Tennis but without it one cannot be competitive or even play and the same is true in Chess. Without a certain knowledge of Chess Openings one can not even play decently. The study of shorter games is necessary because it teaches the beginner what not to do in an opening without resorting to meaningless memorization.
