Who else would like to see jeff actually configure the truck or at least show us what you got equipped on the truck

Just a word of advice: occupy as much of the lane to your left as possible (without getting the escorts mad for not being in between) to prevent traffic from overtaking. If the lane is occupied by AI vehicles this is causing the issues that you have seen where the front escort refuses to change lane as long as it is not cleared and traffic refuses to move from the lane then the snake just bites it tail. Edit: also, instead of moving ahead of the front escort and losing them, if it happens again just quick save and reload :)

Jeff when the police vehicle stopped at that on ramp you was meant to stop behind it and wait for it to pull out and then you followed suit, it stopped because it was waiting for the rear escort vehicle to block traffic. I'm surprised you didn't fail the mission because of that to be honest, you would have in the ETS2 version, maybe its something SCS will fix in the next update.

Just did my first mega haul with escort cars. Was pretty cool, cops stopped traffic and I had the whole road to myself.

You can turn on cruise at 40 behind the police car on the freeway, the officer will do 40 as well. At 24:18 thats a bug and as well you have to come to a stop, just so the cop can get over.

One thing I’ve always wanted to see in ATS is the ‘73 Kenworth W900 complete with full ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ trailer. I’m not even sure if there is a mod of it in ATS, but if there is I’d love to see you showcase it.

If you are driving behind the police car and making turns when it turns, maybe you should also stop when it stops and be prepared to slow down when you get a warning that a manoeuver is coming up.

Hey Jeff, ETS2 has had this for about a year now. The escort stopping in not a glitch, it is just waiting for traffic on the lane to stop passing by and you could've been blocking the rear escort. Little details big problems. And congrats on the wedding

I had something similar happen when I was hauling a house in Kingman, my rear escort vehicle never showed up so I just sat on the interstate with the front police car, until I rear-ended the police car and it still didn't show up, I had to abandon that job, but my second one in Farmtington worked just fine.

I like the special transport DLC and I always follow the rules & you have to wait for the lead car to move before changing lanes & congrats on the wedding.

BTW The reason you can't find any ST routes in Oregon is because SCS hasn't had time to make them yet

First, congratulations on the start of your life as a married man. As a wife of 2 years, marriage is what you make it. Next, special transport is a great DLC. I have slowly been using it with the Volvo, and having a blast. My yellow 780 has been busy since the truck came to the game. 600 horsepower beast, with 18 speeds and a retarder. I chose yellow because I drove a similar truck back in the 18 Wheels of Steel: Across America days. I'm sure that you will have tons of fun as this DLC gets improved and with new states coming in future, we will have more places to do Special Transports, and maybe get more cargoes to haul. And with Thanksgiving around the corner, let me wish you and your families a very happy and sweet Thanksgiving.

About the lights. First step is parking lights. Second is near lights. 😊 Go into controls in settings and put the gearbox mode to high power mode😊👍🏻

If you have an issue like that in the future, I wonder if it would work to restore to the previous save point? They did mention it creates more frequent save points for these missions.

you might have figured this out by now but you have to keep the pilot cars around you or you don't get the road closure effect they create otherwise you are just another truck in the game.. the best way to get them back if this happens is to save the game and reload it. the pilots cars will be back in place and all effects will be running again

Special Transport will come to Oregon, SCS is still working on it and it will be part of the next update and I think will add more cargo to it as well.

Oregon doesn't have many Special Transport routes yet. SCS is going to add some more soon.

Well Jeff, most of the special transport jobs are down in arizona, new mexico and nevada, but its planned to put some into oregon too.

Yep when the cop stops it usually means it's not safe to merge yet so you're supposed to stop too. He will pull out eventually. If this happens and he doesn't pull out just crash into the cop and you'll start at the last check point

Normally with loads like that the truck would be outfitted with Two 18-speed transmissions. Great video man.

@Jeff Not sure if anyone touched on this or you've figured it out by now but when you're in the convoy and the prompt pops up telling you that you are about to perform the merge maneuver, the Headlight fully stops and you must also come to a complete stop or very slow crawl. Before you even stop (as soon as you get the prompt), the Taillight will first merge to the proper lane (at the prompt of the merge), your Headlight will have his/her signal for which direction the merge is about to happen, then he/she will fully stop (idky) which in turn, you will fully stop. The Headlight will merge into the specified lane, which then you will merge. Once you merge the Headlight will then pull forward allowing you to gain your speed. Note: I'm well aware you know how to play this game but when you had to force your merge because the Headlight fully stopped, you weren't compensating for your Headlight's speed. You were going far too fast and the Headlight's stop seemed sudden. When you have a Headlight and they are running flashers, you have to constantly glance at their taillights to watch for their breaking. If you would've kept an eye out for the breaking and compensated for his/her speed, you would have been able to continue with the whole convoy... Sorry for the book, hope this helps you and/or anyone else that had this happen to them. (Oh BTW I did my first one at night, so it was way easier for me to see my Headlight breaking.)

Jeff, next time at 24:09 you need to stop behind the police car and wait untill the police is driving. Check your email in game and you where you can find special transport.

Do not pass front escort! That's why it didn't work right after that.

I love the idea of this DLC, but it disappointed me too much. after I played my first delivery, I was so pissed. I love the idea of it, but there's too many limitations. A) I don't care who you are, escorts aren't allowed to block a road just for a large freighter. B) 40 MPH? Seriously? At least 65 MPH, please. c) Penalized for passing your pilot... Makes sense, but come on. If I want to go faster, let me. I seriously love the idea of this DLC, but the limitations make it such a downer. Still a great game, and I shall continue playing.

I wouldn't really call what happened a glitch, it happens some times in the ETS version of the DLC, a car will be in front of the rear car as it changes lanes, the front car will not change lanes until the space is clear between it and the rear car, so the front car will come to a stop to let the other normal ai car pass. The front car will then change lanes and you can continue on your journey. I think what messed up was the fact you passed the lead car. I see how in this scenario it would of been near impossible to stop in time with the load you had, but sadly these are the things you have to look out for in this DLC. I wish SCS would of spent a little more time on both this DLC and the Eurotruck version just to iron out some imperfections in the pilot AI. But in the mean time just keep in mind that when changing lanes the Pilot can slam on their brakes if a normal AI car is in front of the rear pilot.

For those of us who have played ETS2 aren’t too surprised about a heavy cargo DLC. Glad ATS finally added this in.

When doing a Lane Maneuver, the rear pilot car goes, then you, then the front car.

I play ATS and RDR2 everyday and think about my boy Jeff keepin it down on the youtubes for those of us who don't have the talent to make vids. Glad you had fun on your honeymoon!

That sucks that bug happened Jeff, I've done about 6 of those special transport runs now an each time I got a little too far in front of the rear pilot car it would pop up an say I drove to far away from the pilot car an ask me to reload the nearest checkpoint an it would start over from that point an everything would be normal again. Still a nice video like always man, keep it up.

I recommend using the tri-drive pete for Viper's 389 on HH stuff like this. It really has no problem with terrain, hills, or even accelerating after a full stop.

who ever drove a semi truck knows well that this game can give you just a small idea about how the life as trucker is.working 70h a week and getting paid not enough and the rates are super old and doesnt go up.for me at least not.but what i enjoy is the freedom and the travel time when i catch some nice country views out there.if i would have the time i would just park and enjoy it for a while.sometimes i end up on a nice truck stop with a awesome view.there i stay for the night maybe for my reset from 34h if i am lucky.then again 70h working and take 4 days off after 14days straight working.

1:48 Check your lattest in-game mail. It lists the 17 cities that have a route for special transports. Oregon is a bit too recent so it will be added later like they did with Italy for ETS2 and special transports.
