As an American who got into kpop a few months ago, it’s like a drug. Once you listen to it you just want more and more. There are sooo many amazing groups. My favorites are Le Sserafim (obviously), Aespa, and Gidle. You guys are in for an amazing journey if you keep reacting to kpop!

What I like about kpop is that it is not just about the music, it is an all around entertainment experience. There is a big emphasis on having a compelling performance, achieved via unique music videos, choreography, styling, and the members personalities themselves. I have always loved music and been a fan of bands, but only kpop made me into a real "fangirl". I like that you guys picked up on the visual aspect and could see how much effort was put into the music video visuals and makeup/outfits.

Mv was recorded in LA and Directed by Nina McNeely, who is also the director for Doja Cat: Paint the Town Red, Fergie: Love Is Pain and many other famous Mv's... and Le Sserafim was invited to performance in the 23rd Coachella Festival, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California this coming April

Appreciate you guys checkin' out LE SSERAFIM. It's an anagram of "I'M FEARLESS" while also referencing the highest order of angels. Also, the blonde with the cap is Kim Chaewon; she's the leader of the group and was a previous member of the beloved/disbanded group IZ*ONE. A hallmark of K-Pop is that it uses both Korean and English in the lyrics. The ginger is Jennifer/Huh Yunjin; she's a Korean-American from New York. LE SSERAFIM did a collab with BLIZZARD games for the song "Perfect Night" that is all in English....it's also good. Enjoy.

I recommend also Jungkook "Standing Next To You" it very Michael Jackson inspired. Definitely worth it

I think the combination of the song with the choreo really makes the experience. They really made the choreo look "easy" and that really pulls the song along.

Interesting that Alexis wondered if they were viewed as idols in their culture, the girls in these groups in both Korea and Japan are actually called Idols, and Burch commented from the point of view as a photographer, most of these Idols contracts include modelling work.

I definitely recommend listening to eve psyche and the bluebeards wife. That also has a english version as well by le sserafim, it's very catchy and it also has a English version to check out, ( SMART by le serafim is also a very good song that has afro beats and also includes a full English Version)

These ladies are part of whats referred to as 4th Generation KPOP artists. Which means the newer younge6 groups are Incorporating R&B/ Pop/ Art Pop/ House/ EDM/ Club /Trap beats. These ladies try a range of different Soundscapes. If you really enjoyed them , I highly recommend listening to another World-wide Recognized group called, NewJeans .

These girls are pretty hot in music in general...not just KPOP. They were actually invited to appear at Coachella Festival in California. They accepted and will probably be even more accepted in West. They do have a song that was big hit called 'Perfect Night' which is English only song. The girl in red hair is half American (Jennifer) and was raised in New York before coming back to Korea to be a music star. She doing pretty good.

K-pop is a an umbrella term for Korean produced pop music. Within K-pop, there are many groups and artists who explore certain music genres and incorporate into their songs such as Afrobeats, Latin, EDM, classical and etc. There are dozens of K-pop groups and artists following very similar standards as Le Sserafim. Most popular ones being Black Pink and BTS, the ones well known to have broken out into the American music market. Don't be surprised if a lot of English is present throughout the songs. Back then in the early years, English was just used to sound cool even if the sentences don't make sense. Nowadays, the new generation of K-pop is mainly targeting the western market. K-pop artists, especially their groups, are known to be producers of high standard performance based music with a lot of dancing and high quality music videos. These artists are often contracted under record labels who invest in their training (sometimes military style) and promotions to produce the best singers in the industry. You just dipped your foot into the K-pop rabbit hole. I would encourage but also warn you about how you approach this genre. Like Beliebers and Swifties in the US, k-pop fans can be both extremely cool people and horrible at the same time. You are allowed to express your opinions but do not be discouraged by horrible things people say and do. This happens to every fandom but is especially prevalent in the K-pop sphere. Excited to see you explore K-pop more and hope you have the opportunity to explore other forms of East Asian music.

I'm a big fan of Rock, but as many say entering the world of K-pop is an addiction, they made a presentation last year at the Golden Disc Awards and made their songs in rock version, they have to react to more of their songs as they explore many genres with a very good result! 👍🏻

thank you for checking them out! about the language barrier, for me since i don't speak korean, i'll read the lyrics about 2 times to really understand the message of the song and then i just go off vibes and remember the overall message. i don't necessarily know every lyric they sing and i think that's okay. as long as you vibe with the music and get the message than that's enough for me. over time i have picked up some random words from watching a lot of k-pop content and k-dramas and sometimes if a certain line of the song rlly stands out to me then when i hear it i'll kinda translate it in my head but yeah :) i'm sorry for the rant, i hope you enjoyed the song!

I would be very curious to see what you both would think of Babymetal. Should you ever decide to give them a watch, I would recommend the songs Karate or Gimme Chocolate, and try to go for a live version because they are very theatrical. The lyrics are all in Japanese but they are very talented and heavy. As always, great video.

There’s an English version of this song if you want to get a better understanding of what their saying. The basic message is basically, they go through a lot of hardships but people think they’re lucky bc they make it look easy. They work so hard that no matter how hard something is, they’ll make it look easy.

Quite interesting to watch non Kpop fan American react to EASY by Le Sserafim. This is not a typical Kpop style song and made targeting at Western audiences or western music lovers in general. I am not surprised if this song is sung by any American girl group. This song even has the full English version. They are coming to Coachella in April to perform.

One of the most comprehensive view is from *bby* *gang* *mag* : - BTS vs. K-pop (has a section of what K-pop is and multiple tries to define it because like most defenitions it is more complex than it looks at first glance) Le Sserafim is now 2 years old and the youngest is underage but the oldest is almost 10 years older. But you are wrong about "the bad one" as HYBE groups pride themselves on authenticity and transparency and you literally pointed out the leader whoes job is to stand between the other members and the label and be the negotiator for both. Sure: the "girls" are trained and the original concept was not chosen by them but than a few of them came in late and they had to get to know each other as people and a team first. That said they fill the concept with their own individuaity: the ballett line is for example because one of them studied (successfully) ballett before deciding she may try something different. Because they are a HYBE group - biggest music company grown from a label in SK - they get a lot of haters and a lot of "dirty PR" thrown at. I think they deal rather well with it and it fits there theme: Female strength with adversarity and imperfection: being human and scarred but fighting to make it "look easy". One member already made a few songs of her own - they have MVs - as gifts. They are not on any albums as far as I know: "I ≠ DOLL" by Huh Yunjin I admit that my favorite "Idol group" is BTS and I think you may have heard one of their few English Pop songs like Dynamite or Butter. Personally I prefer their other music and admire their solo music, too. The group comes from Hiphop has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists and is on par with the biggest artists in the world and surprisingly authentic. Their music is known for their lyrics and is usally very intelligent. Their concept albums had a theme of growing up under different aspects and eras - but now they are beginning to cross into their 30s and will have to find a new theme which their solo era helps with. (that and they are all doing their mandatory military service - with the exception of Suga/Agust D - who because of a shoulder injury is doing civil service) Paul McCartney was once asked in an interview if he believed authentic musicians still existed and he named BTS. You nice! Keep going!

Kinda liked it. Not usually into K-Pop. I do listen to a bit of J-Rock and Japanese metal. Not the GWAR/Slipknot type. Burch is right about the bad boy/girl. It also sounds like Alexis needs to hear some TLC if she does not know who Left Eye is.

This song was criticized for not having a traditional "kpop" sound, but that REALLY doesn't mean anything. KPOP refers to an industry, not a genre or style, and they're getting songs written by swedes just like everyone else. What's special about it is what the gentleman Burch pointed out. Korean (asian for that matter) work ethic is well known, they're full tilt at everything and aim for perfection. Performance, styling, choreography, cinematography, set design, creative direction, etc etc. Same reasons you see Korean film and television blowing up worldwide. There are outliers in certain artists and groups, singer songwriters and production houses, but in general you can view KPOP as all music distilled into a concentrated, very well executed form.

A KPOP boy group that I recomend is Seventeen and their song HOT. Is so good!!
