James Acaster did an appearance on Bake Off. He was literally having the worst day of his life, his girlfriend had dumped him and he hadn’t slept for 36 hours, but he still comes up with comedy gold in that one

James has 4 stand-up shows on Netflix. They're all bundled together under the title "Repertoire". Each one is different but there are references in each one that call back to the other shows, it's very clever and of course, very funny. There's also "Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999" which is more recent, also a hoot.

That’s one of my favourite clips from WILTY. James Acaster is the epitome of sullen & cynical satire. His facial expressions are always telling of his mood & he’s a great guy. Suffice to say that you always add that extra 20% with your laughter & expressions. Thanks for that 👍👍👍

James Acaster does a great line in feigned anger! Another classic James Acaster moment on WILTY is another "this is my" moment (with Lee and with Sian Gibson) where James tries to convince the other team that the guest is a local fireman who plays a village game every year. There was another WILTY story of his about spending the night sleeping in a bush.

it was great watching you discover James Acaster - there is a clip from 8 out 10 cats out there of James telling a story about a band he was in, with a lead singer called Lloyd - well worth watching (about 7 minutes in) "Lloyd, that was NOT the plan!"

Gabby represented Wales at rhythmic gymnastics- her dad Terry Yorath was captain of Wales at football, played for Leeds United, so Gabby was born in Leeds. Her husband played for Scotland at rugby

It's Acaster with the A being pronounced like the A in USA. For some context Gabby Logan is a sports presenter and also the daughter of a Welsh International footballer by the name of Terry Yorath, who not only captained his national team on many occasions but also won the 1st Division (now Premier League) with Leeds United. You might recognize the team, a lot of the chants you've watched in previous videos were sang by Leeds supporters, many at Elland Road our home stadium. So yes she is very competitive which makes her story more believable than the actual mental truth.

I work in a northern theatre where James came on his book tour. There was a definite cabbagey whiff in his dressing room. I’ve no idea why 🙄

I love that you get the 'British Humour' 💛 our comedy is dark and self deprecating, and sometimes seems harsh, sarcastic, and mean but its very free, all done in the name of laughs and we don't discriminate....no-one is safe 🤣😂🤣

There's a couple more James's clips on WILTY, one about firefighters, and another about him sleeping in a bush in Basingstoke. Also practically any clip of his standup is worth watching. There's a clip about edgy comedians from his latest show doing the round that's hilarious.

James has three books, read the first two, both are great, the first called Classic Scrapes, is the funniest book I've ever read - struggled to breathe at times. There is a long chapter in it, that covers this tale in full. Highly recommended getting the book.

You might notice on the picture that there was a mix of cabbages and Brussels sprouts. James could not find enough cabbages when he went to the supermarket, so went to another ( in a taxi ) and made up the numbers with some sprouts as well.

There's some incredible James Acaster (pronounced A-caster btw) out there. Keeping on the food trend he now hosts a food based podcast with fellow comedian Ed Gamble and he even contested on the celebrity British Bake Off and it was the day of his life. Dumped by his mrs and no sleep for over 24 hours . Loads of would I lie to you clips that are hilarious and his time on taskmaster was amazing. Greg Davies is good with him on that. Oh and cats does countdown

For pronouncing his name, you just need to put the emphasis on the first syllable, which is a long "A". So it's like AY-kas-ter.

James Acaster has some crazy stories. Search his name, "scrapes" and "podcast" and you'll get a few. The cabbage story was something he talked on the radio about, and the whole story is much longer and better.

Gabby Logan was born on 24 April 1973 in Leeds in the West Riding of Yorkshire to former Welsh international footballer and manager Terry Yorath and his wife, Christine. At the time, Yorath was playing for Leeds United. She married former Scotland international rugby union player Kenny Logan on 19 July 2001.
