I would like to address the confusion about Indian flag (at 34:00). The flag they showed in the film was the flag used by indian revolutionaries in British era. It was also one of the proposed design when they were finalizing the official flag of India post-independence.

Actually the lyrics explaining the foreshadowing of things to come in that song was very subtle cos even in original language Telugu and in Hindi some parts of narration happened in Sanskrit( which is like oldest language in India and considered divine as its apparently spoken by the gods) which is spoken by 1% of the population in special festive occasions so it was never explicit for general Indian audience unless they read the subtitles

So in Indian culture there are epic poems and songs about gods and heroes ,it describes how awesome they are and stuff . So as the reviewer pointed out that the lyrics describe the characters , it’s a storytelling technique in Indian Epics ,you describe in poem and song how your heroes defeated their enemies etc etc. By adding such music when showing your heroes ,Rajamouli is making his actors into heroes of Indian epics. Marvel should make something similar.

That's because they understood the movie the way Rajamouli imagined it. The magic of storytelling. Clue : I came up across a tweet of an American (blue tick) account who posted this : How many of you realised in the bridge scene at first Ram holds flag and Bheem tries to rescue the child which are actually the things happening on their life ( Ram fighting for be country and Bheem came to rescue malli) then Ram saves the child and Bheem takes the flag later symbolically telling the future events where we came across Ram saving malli and Bheem helping Ram to get the weapons. How many ppl do you think would have understood at least a quarter of the storytelling? The movies has a lot of poetry running in the bg. Also when Ram tries to save malli, he was pricked by the tree which symbolises the back stab he did to the Bheem since Bheem is part of nature or forest where the tree is back stabbing him.

All the people that were shown in the last song were mostly revolutionaries, and some of them fought the political struggle (e.g. Sardar Patel and Tanguturi Prakasam) with Gandhi. The flag that was shown was the flag used by some revolutionaries at that time. The Indian national flag was created later.

This is great! Only disappointment is they didn’t talk about NTR’s performance at all. He doesn’t need approval though, he is already proven gem.

I felt elements of the great Indian history of Ramayana in this movie. Bheema was akin to Hanumana devoted to Ram akin to Lord Rama. Seetha separated from Ram and Hanuman promising seetha to burn Lanka and help reunite with Ram. Bheema making the poison antidote is akin to when Hanuman brought the sangeevani antidote for Lakshmana. The main villian was larger than life and the look was similar to Ravana. Also when Ram was asked "why are you exercising 2 days before being hanged" he replied with the famous verse of Bhagavat Gita recited by Lord Krishna to Arjuna. The ending look of Ramcharan dressed like Lord Rama and archery skills gave me chills. The looks suited perfectly. The ending was perfect with Lanka being burned down. This is my favorite movie because it reminds me as an Indian the role models to follow: Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. #Hare Krishna # Jai Shree Ram # Har Har Mahadev

Raju full name alluri Sita Rama Raju . Alluri Sitarama Raju ( born on 4 July 1897 - died 7 May 1924) . Raju was an Indian revolutionary who waged an armed campaign against British colonial rule in India. Born in present-day Andhra Pradesh, he became involved in opposing the British in response to the 1882 Madras Forest Act, which effectively restricted the free movement of Adivasis (tribal communities) in their forest habitats

@4:09 The deer in headlight reaction of goras when they discover "intermission" or "interval" in Hindi movie! @15:11 The budgets of Indian cinema is 1/10th of Hollywood Korbin knows a lot about India and Indian cinema! @45:00 The natu-natu dance sequence was shot in front of Ukraine's royal palace or somethign before ukraine-russia conflict The dance moves needed to be in perfect harmony 'coz that shows they are in sync and having deep friendship, its symbolic. The director and his father co-wrote the script and director's father is wellknown writer in Telgu Cinema. So all the detailing comes from father-son duo. Attention to details

33:50 that flag actually was an Indian flag, designed before independence. It has "vande mataram" written on it in Hindi , meaning salutations to our motherland. Later on , the tri colour flag was designed in the 1940s.

Actually the songs are over explained in the subtitles, its kept a little vague if you actually undsrstand the language, and the song lyrics is mainly jus meant to be heard along with the visuals sort of catching a few words or phrases here and there
