Chocolate with air bubbles? Rockets are Smarties and Smarties are chocolate? Salty, sweet AND savory chips??? WHAT IS HAPPENING IN CANADA??!?! Our dear friend, trusted Blue Wrench, and Canadian neighbor, Blair, sent us an awesome box packed full of snacks from the north. Canadians are notorious for being super nice and as one fan joked "even their snacks are poilte." But Canada can keep the Swiss Chalet. Just not our cup of dipping sauce.
** we apologize in advance for Tara's disastrous attempt at French**

First off one reason for the banning of kinder eggs, the toy is deemed a chocking hazard, then if I remember correctly there is something with food safety due to cleanliness. Secondly the USA does have some forms of gun control, but also has the second amendment. It is not as easy to buy a firearm in the USA as people outside the USA think. There are also many myths circulating around in the USA and out about firearms laws.

@@da15991 Caramellos are a similar concept, but different execution. Caramilk bars have a higher dairy % in the chocolate, which we can get away with bc of our cold climate (they don't melt as much up here). The carmel inside also has a very different texture & sweetness. If you ever get a chance, give it a try and see what you think! 🙂 My favourite candy bar from the USA that we don't have up here are Paydays! I can't get enough of those when I'm in the States. And my mum can't get enough of your cinnamon bears 😄

Caramilk are made as solid, sucrose laden blocks which are laced with small amounts of invertase before being covered in melted milk chocolate. Over time, the invertase breaks down the sucrose in these blocks and the resulting glucose and water-absorbing fructose mixture softens the blocks into the creamy caramel you find in your favourite Caramilk bar.

If want to make butter tarts here is a recipe. This will make around 24 tarts. Grease 2 muffin tin and use pie pastry to make the shells. In a large bowl add 2 cups of brown sugar, 2 cups of corn syrup, 4 eggs beaten, and 1tsp of vanilla. Whisk until colour lightens then add 2tbsp of melted butter and whisk until butter is mixed in. Add 1tbsp of raisin to each tart shell. The pour the filling into the shells. Bake at 350 for 30 to 45 min. Depan them once they r cool enough to tough. And enjoy

Kayla Smith i wonder if it is a regional thing....like some states have certain things, while other states don’t. I mean, I searched and searched in Florida, and I could not find anything dill related....no chips, no jarred pickles, and not even anything dill weed (which is super yummy on salmon).

FYI re: The Cadbury bar keyhole and question mark. Haven't seen the ad in quite a few years but the tag line was, :"Unlock the Cadbury secret; How do they get the caramel into the caramilk bars?" It was painfully obvious they turned the top mold upside down, filled the pockets with caramel and put the bottom on top of the top. Anyway, that ad ran for years and years way back in the day. I’ve eaten at the restaurant hundreds of times and I always thought their gravy tastes like dishwater. If you ever get an opportunity, I recommend trying Swiss Chalet’s competitor St-Hubert Chicken. The chain originated in Quebec and the French Canadians KNOW their gravy!! I mean… poutine? Need I say more?? By the way, Canadian canned tuna tastes way better IMO than the (sorry… cat food tasting tuna) in the US. Also milk and peanut butter have wayyy less sugar in them in Canada. Ok… stepping off my soapbox now. Thanks again for the entertainment!!
