Americans Try Mang Inasal UNLIMITED RICE CHALLENGE at SM Megamall! 🇵🇭

After many, many, many requests for us to try Mang Inasal, we are finally here! And we decided we would try the Mang Inasal Unli Rice Challenge first!
We first started the day during a storm before taking the MRT down to the SM Megamall. We then tried to explore the mall for the first time and also search for the Mang Inasal. After asking 5 guards for the location we finally made it to the Mang Inasal.
We would then start the challenge... AND BREAK THE RECORD?!?!?!?!?
After being nice and full to the brim with rice, we needed some dessert to switch up the palette. We headed to Wendy's to try some of their Ice cream for the first time here in the Philippines!
We then noticed they had some bowling at the Megamall. In Georgia, we attempted to bowl and they were full, so we had been waiting months for such an opportunity to arise again us, so safe to say we capitalizes and bowled a perfect game. The perfect game was then followed by the best Ping Ponging you have ever seen.

Nobody does the unli-rice challenge with the sisig. It’s for the chicken. Also, at the edge of megamall in some floors there’s a touchscreen e-directory/map that you could use to lead you to whatever you want to find and wherever you want go in the mall.

The SM Megamall was the largest mall in the Philippines for a 17-year period, but when the SM Mall of Asia was built in 2006, it was ranked third largest in the country by floor area at that time. It is the third SM Supermall ever built by Henry Sy Sr. after the SM City Sta. Mesa and SM City North EDSA.

I love watching you guys this way. So authentic. I had visited that Mang Inasal a lot when I was still working in ortigas. Our office is right across that building. You should have crossed the street adjacent to that is the THE PODIUM mall. It used to be the mall of celebrities in the 90s because it’s not crowded and it has a beautiful structure and architecture. It is also owned by SM group of companies.

Hahaha, you guys are so funny 🤣 Kudos for doing the challenge 👏🏼 Tip when eating at Mang Inasal with the unli rice is to order the grilled chicken parts in their menu, as “inasal” is a type of a grilled chicken dish. The food isn’t complete without the drizzle of soy and chicken oil as well as an unli (not sure if it’s still unli tho) sinigang soup.

I cant believe u guys actually did that. A normal Filipino wouldn't even dare hahahah! Also while eating sisig when usually the reason we can eat many rice is because of the portions of their grilled chicken. Kudos to you guys! Definitely up for an honorary filipino award lol

Just a tip: when eating at Mang Inasal and go for a unlimited rice always order the roasted chicken that has unli rice on it, the experience of eating a lot of rice is more fun, when eating sisig make sure to put the calamansi then mix them together and you can start eat. Btw, enjoy ypur stay here! you need to go to Mall of Asia 😁

SM Megamall used to be the biggest mall until Mall of Asia - which later on SM North was renovated and extended. :) Nice content, btw! Raw and nice!

Mang Inasal is practically the Philippines' pride and joy when it comes to fast food apart from Jollibee and so many others. It clearly represents one of the Filipino's favorite dishes. I hope the both of you will continue to stay safe no matter what happens.

You guys are truly epic. I can't even finish 1 cup in 10 minutes. Considering that you are new here and don't really have a full understanding of how things are done, I am giving you a two thumbs up for that challenge. I really enjoyed watching you especially that part when you were eating the rice as plain as it was... I will be more than happy to see you having friends with the locals and enjoy the essence of Filipino hospitality.... Filipinos in general would be happy to help you in your daily quests... be careful with the few rotten tomatoes though... you don't wanna lose another phone. there are couple of touchscreen maps in megamall usually situated at the ends of the mall, you can use it to locate a store. you could also use maps on your cellphone😉s

Chicken inasal with chicken oil & chicken should be dip in soysauce with chili & calamansi & you should ask for sinigang soup. It's more delicious for me than sisig.

Just for context, megamall was mega when it was first unveiled in the 90s. Of course the other malls you mentioned eventually renovated and expanded but back then when you say megamall it was reallly the biggest mall in town.

I would not say mang Inasal has the best Inasal though, it's popular yes but a far far cry from the legitimate Bacolod style Inasal. I would rather have it at JTs Manukan and they have a few branches one of which is in BGC.

The famous Mang Inasal started in Iloilo City, the first branch of Mang Inasal in the Philippines is located in Robinson's Place Iloilo, the original owner/founder is Mr. Edgar "Injap" Jaruda Sia II of Iloilo City, also the chairman of Double Dragon Properties a joint business venture with Tony Tan Caktiong. Edgar became the youngest billionaire in the Philippines at the age of 34 after selling his 70% stake in Mang Inasal to Jollibee in 2011. 🙂

Mang Inasal is known for their Chicken Inasal, free soup and free rice. You should have tried it and not the sisig😅 I haven't really tried eating sisig in Mang Inasal. But I love dedication of both of you in fulfilling this challenge! And love how you two enjoy every bit of your stay here even with all of the difficulties because of the weather❤️

You had the wrong strategy and it looks so funny 😂 Thanks for doing the challenge anyway, for you guys who doesn’t like to eat that much rice 😂😂 Tip for next time: Sit facing the hall so the servers see that your plates are empty 😂 You also ate too fast haha try chicken next time at Mang Inasal, since “Inasal” is actually the way the chicken was cooked haha MEGAMALL is the biggest mall in the Philippines before SM Mall of Asia and SM North EDSA.

SM Megamall is the first biggest SM mall that is the reason why it is called megamall. And it is the older mall than SM North and SM MOA 🙂

That's food coma....Half cup serving of rice its what the doctor recommends in a meal though... one cup would have been enough.... 😅 You should have tried the grilled chicken🍗. Since it's the signature dish of that restaurant.

The correct strategy would be Do not drink your Iced Tea Order the Chicken one and not Sisig Ask for the tamarind soup and put it in the rice so it isn't super dry Good try tho.

Wow! You actually ate 5 rice? For someone who doesn’t eat much rice, that’s a lot!! You definitely passed the challenge with a flying colors💕💙 Fyi, STELL of SB19 can eat up to 16 rice in Mang Inasal. That’s his unbreakable record that even went viral hahaha. While the other SB19 members can eat around 5-6 rice just like what you did. 💙💗

Not sure if you were able to check out that vlog by Jessica Lee with SB19 where Stell declared that he chowed down 16 rice at Mang Inasal. It went viral on Twitter that Mang Inasal sent Stell food for the free advertisement. That was epic! Thank you for taking the challenge. I just wondered why you didn't order the grilled chicken.

Woah they flattened the rice now, it's a 1 step ahead for being a filipino when we go to Mang Inasal there's always a contest of how many rice we can eat, you beat me for it I can only take 3 - 4 rice cups 🤣 and you guys even did it on Sisig 😂 it's hard to take 5 rice with Sisig, most of the filipinos will not buy unli rice for sisig only buying it for the chicken.

Asian rice has a totally different purpose than western rice. Asian rice is meant to compliment, accompany, and cut through all the strong contrasting pungent flavors in Asian cuisine. Western rice is like one of the other dishes.

So proud of your accomplishment. As a Filipino, I don't think I could do 5 servings. As a rice eater since birth, I have never eaten rice that much. Good job!
