Stay out of the two lines on the floor or your bumper bait. Seen the back up of production, (bells going - people yelling - kaos fixed in seconds) . Watched some sweet jobs , like putting on tailgate straps , final drive away , headliners. Everyone worked like fine tuned machines , thank you Ford employees for making the number one selling trucks. Had five new ones since 2013 , they are beauties, but I still miss my 78 f 100.👍 👍 🇨🇦

I'm a proud 1991 f150 owner and it's built ford tough and still going strong...have done a engine change after 270,000 miles and some frame rebuild and standard component replacements but she's solid and pretty much a brand new truck all the way..😀👍 And no vehicle payment just maintenance I do everything myself so I know it's done right and at my cost....

I've got a 2016 Lariat 3.5L Ecoboost with just over 11,000 miles. My profile pic is me sitting in it. My local dealer tried to get me to trade it in for a new one earlier this year claiming that mine had a high desirability factor, and I was like "yeah, that's why I still wish to keep it." I've done several exterior cosmetic modifications that are special to me, and I'm not about to give up the truck that quick. Besides, I'm handicapped and require special controls so switching vehicles isn't an easy thing to do. I kept my last vehicle for 16 years and only put 40,000 miles on it.

Real question is, how many of those were consumer vehicles and how many were fleet vehicles? ;)
@matthewhartup941
@matthewhartup941 5 жыл бұрын
Nathan W And why does that matter? Consumer or fleet they still count as retail sales and new trucks busting bugs and burning gas. Wonder why said companies prefer a Ford over a GM or Dodge for their fleet trucks.. hmmmmm I wonder why.. That's the real question.
@theshadowswithin9896
@theshadowswithin9896 5 жыл бұрын
Because consumers seek top quality for their dollar, while fleets seek quantity for a discounted fleet rate. Fleet sales also saturate the market and is the reason your truck won't retain any real value.
@billybeemus3929
@billybeemus3929 5 жыл бұрын
@@theshadowswithin9896 - Consumers buy on emotion. They buy what the *want* and will fit within their monthly lease payment budget. Fleets (construction companies, etc.) buy on value and longevity. They buy the vehicle that does the job for the lowest cost. That means initial purchase price, maintenance, repairs and any residual value when they are done with the vehicle.

It is really easy to make numbers fit whatever narrative you want. I think the issue with Ford is that when you get a solid built one, then it will last you forever, but there are a lot that come off the line with issues. Quality is one thing, consistency is another. Toyota just blows their competition out of the water when it comes to quality, but of the American manufacturers, I have to say Ford is my favorite considering some bad experiences with the likes of GM and Chrysler.
@T.A.Persinger

I agree. But to say that toyota makes quality cars is an overstatement. They make reliable, dependable cars. Nothing about stepping into a recently made corolla shouts quality.
@nickakers7985
@nickakers7985 5 жыл бұрын
Taylor Persinger perhaps our idea of quality is different. I admit that I wouldn’t pick a Toyota for luxury, I will say that the way some Toyota products are equipped is questionable, such as a key start on a 35000 dollar Camry. But Toyota has a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” attitude, and that seems to serve them well. I’ve driven or owned numerous Toyota’s over time and the amount of parts they reuse is amazing, such as the window adjust switch for example, I’ve seen them in ones as old as 2001 to the brand new Camry.
