Those are the wrong gutter guards for the vinyl system. You want to purchase the "Leaf Guard Plus" sections that are 6 foot long, have a clear seal on each side, and fit perfect inside the gutter hanger clips, with the wider clear seal on the fascia side that fits right under your shingles or drip edge. Amerimax makes those gutter guards you're using for their aluminum gutters.

I have the same gutters and used the same vinyl hangers. But that is not the gutter guards that i have installed on mine. Mine are flat and they slide into the clip in front and the clip in back, and theres some clear vinyl that runs along both edges. I made sure to look at all the guards they had and then tried fitting all of them into the vinyl connectors before buying them.

I totally agree! Been searching for any info to address this problem, but I believe this is truly an oversight in design. What a bummer.

You're going to find the rain water just runs over the guard because your roof material overhangs too much

What about aluminum hangers ? They seem low profile for the mesh cover to slide on. Haven’t tried it but just a idea

Yes sir you absolutely have the wrong gutter guards for your home. I use those amerimax guards from home depot. They're not bad. I used to go on my roof 2 times a year now I have only been 2 times in 4 years. For the price they're even worth replacing them if you have to every few years. Mine seem to be holding up ok. And I get a lot of leaves and debre.

I used 7 inch screw and sleeves and did it the old fashioned way. At almost 3 bucks a peace I would have more in the stupid hangers than the gutters. It's was on a 20ft long storage barn I built.

I think the idea is you have that gap so that the water feeds into the gutter but not the crud. And you don't want an ice build-up in the winter. That's just my guess. I could be wrong. You posted this in 2020. How has it worked? I ask because I'm considering getting this design of gutter filter.

I just bought these and have also been wondering if I was installing these the wrong way but after seeing your video, I definitely agree! This is a piss poor design from the company. The part where the gutter cover meets the hanger will need to be cut out to have them installed the proper way. I just sampled one of the gutter covers. The fitment was a lot better but the cut out wasn’t perfect around the hangers so I ended up returning the rest. I decided to go with the Hoover Dam Gutter galvanized steel covers on my K style Vinyl gutters. They come in a brown powder coat that looks great. These match the color of my shingles and not the color of the gutter.

You had to input the gutter under the K bracket lip. I had the same issue about the design and I agree it’s a stupid design

The Amerimax gutter guard you are showing was not designed for Vinyl K-Style Hidden Gutter Hanger. They were intended for either exterior PVC gutter hooks and aluminum or galvanized gutters using the standard hidden hangers. You should have used a K-Style gutter guard from Home Depot of the same manufacturer, Amerimax. Please do your homework before you judge a product. I have the same gutter as yours but I asked a Home Depot employee before I purchased it. They sold me the right gutter guard for my kind of PVC gutter. Fits perfectly with my hidden gutter hangers and did the job well. I installed it myself like 5 years ago. BTW, you need to inspect your gutter guard from time to time if that sand-like debris from your asphalt shingles is accumulating on your gutter guard. Just use a blower or broom to clean them. Stay Safe.

Yours guards look as if they're meant to be cut to fit in between each one of the hangers

Just bought mine and totally agree this is a horrible design Going to cut around the hangers like you suggested but shouldn't have to. Amerimax are you listening???

Having been roofing over forty years . My advice is save your money because no gutter guards work . All the debris that would go into the gutters gets stuck on top of the guards. So your still going to have to clean them . There just selling pointless products that dont work .

Looks like you bought the wrong kind of guards for the hanger system which is used. I bought the guards which were for sale at HD alongside the gutters and the other parts for these gutters. They have vinyl flaps on both edges and slip into the support slots like you show. The ones I bought are 10 times worse than yours. Laughably unworkable and unsightly.

Both things could be true.

Used these and worked fine for a opulent of years or the sun destroyed them. Looked like they lost the war, really fell apart.
