Moonlight Bay is a Barbershop Quartet classic, dating back to the American Quartet in 1912. Not surprisingly, the Ames Brothers more than do it justice. Magnificent.

The uploads on this channel are phenomenal! I'm so glad to see the Ames Brothers; they were one of the top singing groups of the 1950's. This was really delightful! They had many huge hits such as "The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane", "Sentimental Me", "Melodie D'Amour", "My Bonnie Lassie" (which they also sang on this episode and I'd love to see), "It Only Hurts for a Little While", "Tammy", etc. I'm sure most know, but Ed Ames was their lead singer, who later went to another successful career as a solo singer with songs such as "My Cup Runneth Over" (posted last year on the Sullivan show) and starring as Mingo on the TV show, "Daniel Boone". He turned 94 years old last month and is the last surviving Ames Brother.

I was a year old when this episode aired. Most likely I was in my playpen watching, because I grew up adoring this song and style of singing😊💖

@@dw438 That is a good one and as I have said throughout the years; if it wasn't for Jewish entertainment there would be very little entertainment if any throughout the years! I am a Christian but Christian folks are notoriously unentertaining.

@@cameronmccreary4758. I guess you know Ed Ames was not an Indian. The Ames Brothers were Ukrainian Jews.

We used to have a drinking game called “Spot the Jewish Indians” when watching Daniel Boone. Ed Ames was a given, but you could die of alcohol poisoning if you’re watching the episode where they’re in Florida. Nearly every one of the’Seminoles’ were Jews, starting with Leonard Nimoy.
