'One of the Amiga's many Arkanoid clones, Crystal Hammer is perhaps best remembered by its intro tune, which has been remixed and covered by many.
The game is all about reflecting a ball against a wall of bricks. Behind the wall of bricks live some worm-like creatures that will come out to disturb you when you've opened a hole in the wall. Prolonged contact with the creatures will kill your bat. Destroying bricks will often cause a coloured brick to come spinning down slowly. These spinning bricks are power-ups, altering your ball or bat according to their colour.'

CRYSTAL HAMMER is as brilliant as AMEGAS. Both of them are the great Breakout clones on the Amiga 😺👍🕹️.

Damn, the music rules. 7:00 - Holy crap this game looks hard af. Look at that instant speed up. Now imagine playing this stuff hours on end without save states. "You are going to die. A lot." -LordKat, Until We Win :) EDIT: 8:50 - The ball gets stuck until an enemy walks into it. It is the first time I have seen that happen in a Break Out game. Wow, the quality control back in the day. lol

I’m gonna sound old af. But it was par for course back then. Especially on the Amiga where a lot of its games, (Xenon, Shadow of the Beast looking at you) aesthetics meant more than gameplay. And yes you died a lot! Game balance was pretty rare. Something else to bear in mind is back then, the Amiga used a 2-button mechanical mouse with a rubberized roller ball. This would inevitably get gummed up with lint off the mouse pad and whatever dust, finger oils etc. which would cause the mouse to stick or stutter if you didn’t clean it off regularly. Basically it was a death sentence in a game like this! The mouse would stick at some critical moment. 😂
