Thank you for this. I was in college when it was originally released. In 1989 after graduation I bought an Amiga 500 (still own but boxed up) and played this game and many other of their titles. It was fun to see the end. I only made it two the moon and defeated the Nazi Amazons twice, but lost against the last alien both times.

I remember putting so many hours into this game as a kid, i could only ever get him to take off once every 9-10 attempts, and usually i would be immediately shot down by the luftwaffe. And yet despite what was incredibly frustrating, I have nothing but affection for this game.

I never managed to take off ...did not know a word of English as a kid so could not figure out that u need to pres fire with every step to gain speed. Cinemaware is my favorite game company so I just came, 30 years later to see how the hell is taking off in this game :)

Cinemaware made some truly great games back in the day. This, Wings, Defender Of The Crown, It Came From The Desert, King Of Chicago, They really "created" the cinematic game. I'd love to see some modern remakes of these. I know they remade DOTC a few years back, but I want to kill giant ants and rule Chicago once more.

It's just a shame virtually all of their games were in CGA quality for the PC, but hot dang, their Amiga games were graphically superior to everything but arcade games of their day.

Didn't you have to time the button taps with the characters foot steps ..then push 'up' on the joystick (to take off) when enough running speed was reached. imo, THE hardest thing in RR was making sure you had the right amount of fuel for the trip ..that damn security wheel you had to use was a pain and easy to make a mistake with ;-)

This Game at the time was at the forefront of programing for the Amiga and a lot of thought was presented given how complex the computer language was in those days.It was good to see the ending for as I only got to the Moon landing and then got distracted at the last second and could not save the last battle. uggg! Thank you for showing the last sequence of this game. Too bad That Amiga did not evolved further as I was quite a supporter of this OS at that time! There was nothing like it !!!!!!!

I have just been given an old falling apart A600. I've put a 3.1 bios and OS via CF card. I don't really have a clue about Amigas since I've never used one before. I wanted one when I was a teen but I had 0% chance of getting one. All my friends had one but I didn't. My A600 has 1mb of RAM but it says it can't allocate shadowmem. Would 2mb be enough to run this game given that I assume the OS is also using RAM. p.s dumb question, can I just turn the Amiga off and the power brick or is there a 'proper' way of shutting it down?

Thank you for uploading. Teenage me got very frustrated and without any outside help gave up. The think I remember the most was shooting at flying planes as the Nazi machines took over and never being able make it past the 3rd time doing that. Since this walk through never did that once, tells me it was a futile sidetracktion.

I completely agree with you! Even with an accelerator, it doesn't make up for the IIgs version lacking certain animation FX that exists in the Amiga version. I love how the game plays out. Its cool. Your time in completeing the mission depends largely on you getting into space before the Nazis conquer America. In the meantime, as you do, you see nation after nation fall to the third Reich. Though I must say, the ending is silly. I DOUBT the Nazis would just give up having lost their moon base.

So great to be able to watch playthroughs of all these Amiga games I had as kid and couldn't finish. This one was particularly horrible. I started to wonder if the game wasn't about swapping disks. I remember having to switch disks like 3 times and go through long load sequences just to get through one takeoff montage. Now that I can see the whole game from beginning to end, I realize this game was just lame. It was eye candy for the time, but the core of the game is very, very thin.
