Ok, I gotta say, what an awesome sticker!!😂😂😂 I was going to ask your thoughts on hard bags when doing the challenging off road rides, but you addressed it a bit already. I am afraid of snapping a leg… I was also going to ask if you’re going to carry spare nut in your bag in case you lose one, but it just doesn’t right….. very cool DYI! Be safe out there, Patrick

Finally found a spot for your sticker, the magnet has been on the fridge since I got it. The plan is for challenging day rides, side racks off, overnight trips off road will be soft bags then the ammo boxes for anything else. Does "spare bird in car" translate to spare bolt in case I lose one? I do carry some spare bolts, probably should check I have one this size. Thanks for reminding me. If you did mean spare bird in car, no I don't carry a spare bird in the car. lol. Ride safe, Ian

@@OzADVRider 😂😂😂 Holy crap, I really need to proof read myself!! Never heard of spare bird in your car!!! I fixed it, spare nut in your bag…😂😂😂 I’m glad you figured out what I meant. I have been talking to a buddy about soft bags, and hard bags on rides, we have come to the same conclusion as you as to when we will ride with what set up. I have a feeling that sticker is going to get very dirty, very quickly!! I guess I’ll have to send replacements!!!

They look easy and relatively cheap to replace. Come up with a pad for the corners closest to rider. A section of tire?

Yes, they were very cheap. I could possibly put some padding on the corners, I'm not too worried because of the MX boots I wear but still could potentially injure me

I notice some goop or putty between the brackets and ammo can for water sealant. What did you end up using? I am likely going to these for panniers, since my 1980s fiberglass saddlebags aren't watertight with hardware going into them. I now have a bunch of rusty tools inside them. Great video!

I used adhesive sealant on the mounting brackets and the plate inside that the bolt goes through. Also a rubber grommet in the bolt hole. Something like this stuff www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-300ml-grey-650fc-adhesive-sealant_p0432373

Could always use some gasket maker. Or rtv.

Yes. You can fit a lock to the lid. Search "lockable ammo box" on KZfaq.

The main and really only question is: will they hold an unbroken 6-pack of beer? BTW really cool looking! I am looking at Mosko bags that are a grand, or make these lol. I am thinking I need these until I can afford those crazy priced Mosko bags!

Why is ADV gear so expensive? Not sure if an unopened 6 pack would fit. They are fairly narrow. You could fit them loose with ice though

@@OzADVRiderthank you for the answer! I ordered some fat 50 cans, and gonna try to do some redneck engineering later today. Maybe I can just carry a bag with me so if I have to break a 6 pack it will be okay. Gonna be watching your video for guidance with it.

You know what upsets me more than the price of adv gear is the fact that a lot of the products are made in communist China. It’s just corporate greed. Mosko bags for instance are made there. I would expect a discount in the least, but nope!
