This was such a remarkable combination of sorrow and beauty. Her heart is broken but her inner strength was blossoming. I couldnt help but think she was like a flower. This show is truly amazing.

When I first watched this show, I thought it was going to be another silly Disney show, but TRUE COLORS BROKE ME

As someone who just finished watching both seasons, here's a summary: Watching ep 1: Eh, this cartoon seems okay I guess Me after True Colors: I NEED SEASON 3 NOW, THIS IS SO GOOD!

The symbolism of this scene and its soundtrack are so densely layered and immensely powerful it's breathtaking. A physical representation of Anne's growth as a person since coming to Amphibia echoed by a reorchestration of the song "No Big Deal" which she wrote depicting this as well as her newfound happiness with herself and her life in Amphibia despite being seperated from her old life, parents, and friends. This is represented by Sprig himself, and is nearly taken from her as Andrias seemingly kills Sprig. She wants that happiness back, "GIVE HIM BACK!", is coupled with the awakening of her calamity powers, a physical manifestation around that happiness thought foregone, as well as her maturity as a person symbolized by the blooming of the leaves and branches in her hair. Anne's transformation is also indicative of her ability to own her flaws and mistakes, which is what the show is really about and what separates Anne from Sasha and Marcy who do not own their faults and suffer for it while Anne fully blossoms into her true self, her best self. All of this alongside an emotional orchestration of a song Anne herself wrote depicting her life in Amphibia in the background of a climactic battle. What more needs to be said? It's the perfect climax with a perfect soundtrack. It's also humorously alluded to in the season 1 episode of Snow Day, when Anne remarks on how all of her time in Amphibia has lead to a great moment of fate and karma, among many other amazing foreshadows this show has to offer. This show is just so masterfully crafted in every way and has become my new favorite cartoon of all time after Avatar: The Last Airbender. The symbolism and music are what really make this show what it is I feel moreso than anything else and it really goes to show how far simple literary and atmospheric elements can do for visual storytelling. It's all so well thought out and crafted and yet still has all the appeal of a cute cartoon show. A perfect blend of cartoon fun and mature themes. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a pandemic than to watch Anne's story in Amphibia unfold. To whomever created this particular musical piece, you are a genius. EDIT: T.J. Hill is the genius behind the score of Amphibia as well as The Owl House. Thank you for this masterpiece.

Me at the beginning: She’s trapped in a magical world with cute quirky froggies, and weird animals. Me at the end of season 1 and true colors:🥺🤯😳😭.

My favourite part about this piece is that it's not trying to overshadow what's happening. It's letting Anne's actions drive the moment and not trying to fill the moment to the brink, it's left room for you to just watch and absorb what's happening.

I got tremendous goosebumps when I saw Anne get her powers and at the same time I was broken. I can't wait for season 3 now!

I just want to point out when Anne said "give him back... GIVE... HIM... BACK!!!" Brenda Song said this with so much emotion that I have NEVER heard from any actor. No performance could top the way she perfectly captured Anne's despair and desperation. It was so heartbreaking, but God it was so powerful. The actors were not messing around with this episode. Incredible.

I love the way the melody in the song and in the soundtrack is played. In the song, it is the happiness, and in the soundtrack, it is the insane anger of Anne. True geniuses
