Amrapali's new home was Bajalpura. Bajalpura: Amrapalis home. In the last para of page 68 Huen Tsang states, “Not far from this is a stupa; This is the old house of the lady Amra. It was here the aunt of Buddha and other Bhikshunis obtained nirvana.” Bajalpura falls in line according to Huen Tsangs description. It is the old house of Lady Amra or Amrapali. We see him moving south wards placing the villages next to each other very accurately. Xuan Zang takes us southwest from Bhairav temple, where Vimalakirti preached while sick, to Ratgaon near the Ganges, which was the house of Ratnakara. By the statement of ‘Not far from this is a stupa; This is the old house of the lady Amra.’ Xuang Zang means next to Ratgaon is the old house of lady Amra. Next to Ratgaon is Bajalpura. Bajalpura is a perfect ancient name for a dancing hall. Bajal means lots of music meaning this area had a dancing hall. The setting of Bajalpura bang on the banks of the Ganges is a perfect setting for high voltage romance between the Lichavi princes and herself. What is better than ‘wine, woman and song’ on the pristine white sands on the banks of the Ganges. Proof that Bajalpura is Amrapali’s home is her mispronounced name. Buddhists texts say that Amrapali was also known as Ambapali and Ambapalika. Buddhists don’t know that in Bihar a married woman isn’t known by her name but by the place she hails from. Added to the name is Wali mean hailing from that village or area. Like a woman from Patna would be known as Patnawali. Similarly, we all know that her real name was Amra. Add Bajalpurwali it becomes Amrabajalpurwali mispronounced as Ambapali. Another proof of Bajalpura being the place where Amrapalis muscicians stayed is the fact the Vajji King Mahanada, whose palace was submerged in the Ganges off the banks of Kotigama, was smitten by his love to Amrapali that he relocated to her house in Ambara. It’s clear that Ambara is a Buddhist mispronunciation of Bajalpura. There are four colonies of Bajalpura which support and is proof that the latter was a part of Amrapali’s home where the musicians stayed. They are Madhurapur east, where Amrapali entertained the Lichavies, central madhurapur which is the old house where Prajapati Gautami attained Parinirvana, Binalpur where King Bimbisara stayed, Nav Tolia which was Maha Prajapati Gautami’s nunnery, Kagjania where Ajat Shatru stayed, and Koluwar where her son from King Bimbisara lived.
