Amsoil CVT Update

So a bit ago, I had done a CVT cooler install and promised an update on how the cooler and the Amsoil oil was doing in the juke. Here is my update on the dues and don’ts and pros and cons.

Also, great advice on the oem oil pan gasket. One thing to add is DO NOT overtighten the bolts to the pan. They are extremely easy to strip.

I did this install after seeing your video. Heat gun is not needed to install the hoses. Just rub some of the oil on the connectors to lubricate and you can slide them off relatively easy.

You should probably switch over from mobil 1 to Amsoil XL or Signature Series

Hi, i bought the ingen SRI and planning to buy the diverter valve based on your previous videos - how have you found them so far? Im from england so dont expect super hot weather like you guys get but have you found any issues with hot air intake affecting pressure ect? Just thinking of the amount of traffic jams we have here so i may be sitting around gathering hot air from the engine, thanks, great videos!

A SRI is gonna be better hands down than a CAI. Stock jukes don’t spool much high pressure so they actually need a diverter to keep it boost up and consistent. You should be fine, But if you’re still worried about heat soak you can buy an Intake Heat Shield.

I’m not sure if that magnetic drain plug is going to work bc a lot of engines now are aluminum. That’s nice that Nissan gives you a transmission dipstick, Honda doesn’t for a CRV. The last time I changed my CVT, I treated it like I was doing a manual tranny. Fill it till it starts coming out stead from the upper hole.

he put it in trans pan... a LOT of steel in there... including the chain that NEEDS the best lubrication, will show early wear by looking @ magnetic plug...

How are your CVT Fluid temps? How are you monitoring the temp? Before/After the cooler install.

A CVT cooler is just a way to slow the progression of the CVT deterioration, it will not prevent it outright. Since I’m not putting tons of power in it it’s just a preventative measure

Looking back on all the Juke Mod's I did, If I am being honest, Knowing what I know now I wouldn't have done over half of them... The CVT Cooler isn't needed and the FMI I put in made things worse than if I would have just left it stock.. I just hit a little over 110K miles on my Juke though..
