The only trans additive ever recommended by a car maker is Lubeguard. International Lubricants which produces Lubeguard is a pioneer in group V synthetic fluids . You’d be surprised who they sell their products to. Amsoil is a blender. That means they buy all of their base stocks as well as additives from other companies. Exon Mobil has supplied much of Amsoil’s base oils for years. I have no use for most additive products but Lubeguard is an excellent product that has been recommended by vehicle manufacturers.

And Amsoil + Lubegard was supposedly the way to avoid issues in trouble-probe transmissions. I used it in a 2nd gen Honda Odyssey and had a decade+ of trouble-free miles.

Amsoil Signature Series ATF and Engine Oil ranks higher than Mobile Oil and ATF though.. show me another auto trans fluid that has 180,000 city miles (in a Taxi Cab in Las Vegas) stay within NEW OIL specs with that much use and abuse..

I use and trust just two additives: Lucas Trans Fix and K&W Trans-X.

instead of discussing snake oil flaws, how about discussing transmission design flaws? such as a 10 dollar protruding cooler line exposed to salt and susceptible to rust - subsequently leaking out fluid and destroying a 5000 dollar transmission.

@@mattlane2282 There is a video where they just pop on some F150s. No rust, just breaks off clean at the connector.

I just swapped out my filter and fluid on my 2016 f150 with 50k miles with the recommended amsoil fluid and now the truck wont go in any gear. even though the fluid level is at the correct point on the dip stick with the engine running. I have a feeling it is not really compatible.
@Mid2stars6 жыл бұрын
Check filter placment and use only ford recomended fluid. You may have overfilled it. Only add what u removed in the first place. Disconect negative battery cabke for 30 min then reconect after fluid change and try again. Good luck!

Joe Billard so the fluid was fine. The fuckin part from orielys was not right in their system.

It's true. Not knowing the complex anomalies AMSOIL can cause to an engine may prove detrimental. Just stay with conventional oil to be safe.

It did sound weird that just Amsoil transmission fluid alone would cause a malfunction. Given that the level was correct. It'd be a different story if you put peanut butter and sand in there then it would make sense! I'm considering doing an Amsoil fluid change in my 2014 Ford Edge when it hits 50k. Got an old car that I"d like to test Amsoil on. It has shifting issues.
