Remember how comfortable you could be in the back of a TA fishbowl on a Spring day as the city drifted by your open window? Part one is Tenth and Amsterdam Avenues in the Upper West Side. These 1966 (rebuilt 1985) GM coaches did not kneel or have lifts for the handicapped. They did not carry schedules or display a map. There was no power steering. The Detroit Diesel engine and two speed hydraulic transmission would move the sturdy metal body over a million miles. But the windows opened and you could see out the rear window. There's lots to see on this ride, in two parts, it lasts 17 minutes.
