Amtrak Acela, NE Regional, Autumn Express (Additional Footage) & More at Prospect Park!

On Saturday, November 2nd I headed out to see the first ever run of Amtrak's Autumn Express along with action from other Amtrak and SEPTA trains on the NEC. I also took some friends from my small group at my church out with me because they wanted to know what railfanning was like. Thanks to Mason, John, Kyle, and Kevin for coming along on this trip. My one friend brought his Go Pro camera so that we could take video of the trains going away. I really enjoyed watching trains on the superelevated curve at Prospect Park-Moore station, so I may be back again in the future.

Hey AcelaPhillies: take a hard look at the approaching Acela and compare it to the diesel and HHP-8. Notice the lateral motion. This is what I meant about

I definitely can see the lateral motion differences that you are talking about. The view from this station offers a great view of the lateral motion because you are basically looking head on at the approaching trains.

Where do the diesel loco hauled trains go to?

Amtrak does not usually operate diesel hauled trains on this portion of the Northeast Corridor. This was a special excursion train operated for one weekend only in the beginning of November to admire fall foliage.
