Amtrak Empire Service Train 233 rips through Castleton-On-Hudson, NY, at 100 MPH with the historic private passenger car, New York Central 3. The NYC 3 was built in 1928 for the New York Central railroad was the executive business car for Harold Vanderbilt. He was was the great-grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt.
Between Hudson, NY, and Schenectady, NY, is approximately 25 miles of high speed track where Amtrak trains frequently reach a speed of 110 MPH.
