Amtrak HD 60fps: High Speed 125 MPH Train Action @ Jersey Avenue 6/11/15 w/ ACS 64 Veterans Unit

Due to some landscaping that was going on just north of the station, there was a Flagman on duty, which means that you are guaranteed horn action from every passing train. Great day to hit up Jersey Avenue! Enjoy =)
Equipment includes ACS-64, AEM-7AC, & Acela Express train sets. Action is between 1:15 PM and 2:15 PM.

I'm sure going to miss those AEM-7 Electric locomotives at least three of them were saved for preservation one of them at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and Strasburg number 402

Awersome video! If this is in North Brunswick NJ, that warehouse on the other side of the tracks from where you are standing, is gone now. It was part of the car dealership off Rt 1, but it was totally destroyed by a massive fire in July of 2015. That fire was so huge, I could see & smell the smoke in Monmouth Jct.

The US needs high speed rail Travelling by train beats air travel in my opinion. Much more room, and large windows to watch the world or countryside Trains are much more civilised Ethan being treated like a suspicious piece of baggage and airport security. I loved the trip from DC to NY,and then on to Niagara falls. The trip along the Hudson is lovely

Question about 1:28 train. Does it have front driver cabin in push mode or is it operated from rear locomotive with some sort of camera ?

Yes, Amtrak's Keystone service uses cab cars for push-pull service.

Metroliner cars were converted to be used as cab cars for Keystone Service/Springfield Shuttle trains.

This is 2016 (almost 2017). Railroads still have Flagmen? You mean to tell me that the systems haven't been designed to give train operators information as to where work crews are? The guy's holding some kind of a sign as the train goes by. The train doesn't appear to be slowing down. All I hear is a horn. If that ain't a "featherbedding job", I don't know what is.

Work is sometimes done in zones, meaning the crew actively moves around the ROW. Train crews ARE informed by dispatch of work locations, but flagmen are necessary to protect these moving crews. The flagman's job is to inform the WORK crew that the train is approaching. The whistle sign is just an added auditory safety precaution; it allows the work crews to know that the train engineer has seen and acknowledged their presence. Trains do not have to slow down through work zones UNLESS a slow order has been issued. You try taking away safety precautions and see how well that flies with the crews themselves and workers' unions.
