Amtrak Polar Express Train 2023!

Күн бұрынOn a perfect day we watch basically the entire operating day for the Amtrak Polar Express. This year Amtrak 160 was used as power, this unit was painted into the retro Pepsi Can Phase III scheme that was applied to the P32-8's in the 1990's. We would watch this throughout the day as we enjoyed the seasons festivities.

Nice video! As much as I love to see the Polar Express, I wish Amtrak would’ve used those 8 cars to add extra space to the regional trains during this holiday season.

I agree, they probably should not have allowed those cars for the train given how short they have been

Why not run this train up to one of the end of line terminals and back, like Kenosha along the water of of Lake Michigan

This route allowed them to fully stay on Amtrak property which makes everything much less complex for the run. The main focus is the acting within the train rather than the actual train ride.

So this train just runs back and forth? It doesn’t actually go anywhere? What a waste of equipment

Yes, goes from track 1 out to Canal, then shoves back to 21st street, then back north to canal, then shoves into track 1. Putting those 8 horizon coaches to good use!
