I can't help but feel that Saitama had regrets about having to kill the Galaxy King when he was walking away. He was the only opponent up to that point to ever survive a serious punch from him long enough to talk about it. It's also possible he would have straight up won the fight by launching Saitama into space since if he'd missed the moon than no matter how strong he was there would have been no way to get back to Earth and he couldn't hold his breath indefinitely. If he'd been able to let go of his pride and give up the fight without threatening Earth than he could have become an ongoing sparring partner with Saitama. Just like Frieza's relationship with Goku from Dragon Ball Z, Beros had the potential to break his own limits and finally give Saitama the challenge he'd been looking for all these years. Even if they would never truly be friends, his death was a great loss to Saitama and he seems to be aware of it...

In all seriousness, Saitama's motivation to be a hero overpowering the idea that absolute power corrupts absolutely is probably the most superhuman thing about him. He could literally rule the world with an iron fist but instead he's so unknown that he's forced to pay attention to supermarket sales just to keep himself fed and he gets insulted by random C-class heroes for doing his job due to jealousy. Humble doesn't even begin to describe him as he's almost a literal god living like an apartment squatter who is constantly ridiculed by those he's dedicated his existence to protecting.
