This concert ranks of one of my favorites of all time. Amy has enough amazing material to keep her playing all day long. I especially loved her review of her Age to Age/Father’s Eyes/Straight Ahead era. She has been such a blessing to me for 40+ years.

I grew up listening to Amy Grant, in the ELCA, not religious nowadays. But I still listen to Amy Grant, I know all the words… and some of those songs just make me bawl. She is the opposite of phony. I absolutely love her. Such a treasure.

Amy had open heart surgery a couple years ago. She said she was struggling to find the breath to sing five years ago and you can see her struggling when you see the videos. We can see she is back in fine form and that the heart surgery was a success and she is back with her beautiful voice.

I know about Amy Grant from the 80.... the first LP I bought was Never Alone and then continued following her “everywhere”. I surely hope she is in good health, good spirits and overall, that she is in peace with the God of Heavens, the Creator, Yah. Too many great songs to pinpoint.... how about I am Raining on the Inside?

I saw Amy Grant in her first tour at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan when Michael W. Smith played before her and then he played the keyboards for her. The next time I saw her was in 1985 at the ACC on Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana. That 1985 concert I took my future Brother-in-Law to see her. The Lord planned that night before I met my wife. You see I drove to South Bend from my hometown St. Joseph, Michigan many hours before tickets went on sale probably two or three months before my wife and I met. I purchased two tickets within the first three rows (I think it was the front row - stage right). Three dates after I met my wife, and after a long almost three hour walk and talk we decided to commit ourselves to one another - PTL❣❣❣ My wife had purchased tickets to go to Honolulu, Hawaii with a Co-Worker as both ladies had thought that they would be single all their lives. (My wife was 25 and I was 29 at that time.) So, my wife mentioned this trip asking me what she should do. I responded that the Lord had that trip planned before we met and she should still go. During that time she was to be gone was when the Amy Grant South Bend concert. Well, her brother had recently lost his job and his wife had thrown him out and had planned to divorce him. Again, I took my Brother-in-Law to that concert, Amy shared her testimony, and after the concert we went to a restaurant and I shared with him my testimony and showed him how he could have a personal ongoing relationship with Christ. Later that week he accepted Christ - PTL❣❣❣ (1 Corinthians 3:5-8)

Wow, Steve that is an awesome story PTL! All things were aligned by God, so wonderful He is, all the time! So Happy for you and your wife, and your brother in law ❤ 💙. Amy is a blessing to the modern Christian music heritage, with a great voice and heart, amazingly talented! My cousin got me listening to her when I was a teen, now 46, I still love listening to her. She's a blast of Sonshine 😉.. I love Michael W. Smith too great voice n piano/keyboard player. My dad spent 12 years in South Bend and my stepmother worked at Notre Dame. Loved visiting the lake Michigan coastline near St Joseph area.. peace, love. And blessing to you

Steve, that was an awesome testimony! Now that was an example of how Christians are supposed to live and witness to others! God will greatly reward you for winning that soul to Christ! "He who wins souls is wise." (Proverbs 11:30) You were also open to the Lord and adjusted to the change of events, and took your future brother in law to Amy Grant's concert when he was at his lowest low, and was blessed. I hope your marriage is still going strong, and God will grant you the desires of your heart. Peace unto you, Pam

@@pamelawheeless8090 Thank you Pamela! (My elder sister is named Pamela😊) My wife went Home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2018 after 31 1/2 years of blessing after blessing, 10 children (4 miscarriages - those children are spending time with my wife - PTL!) and currently 11 grandchildren (2 miscarriages - my wife is raising them up literally in the nurture and admonition of the Lord - Ephesians 6:4b - PTL!!) I know even more what the Apostle Paul meant when he stated, "For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." The Lord will greet me into heaven and after take me to see the love of my life here on earth where she will introduce me to those 4 children and 2 grandchildren. I love it!!!!!!!

Thank you so very much for this wonderful video and the endless memories it brought back from the 40+ years i've been a loyal fan of Amy's!!! Her music ministry has been a part of every facet in my life through the good times...the great times....the sad times ....the celebrations and the many losses of loved ones gone before me but celebrating their joy in Heaven through Amy's music. Through my teenage years....my peak in life years....my now silver haired years....her music has been there for me through it all ....and still is and always will be. Since my teenager years...whenever i get sad or disappointed or i just need to be still and let the problems of the world go away for awhile,i put on Amy Grant's music and me and the Lord take a walk together and i sing along and sometimes i just let the spirit move me and i dance....just me and the Lord ..... i call it my spiritual booster shot. And when i go back to the reality of the world i'm charged up and i can handle anything life throws at me.....Amy's songs of worship and the word of God together ....have never failed me. Always constant joy. I know i am a child of God and i have His son Jesus by my side ....and my husband and i have been togerher 45 years this year and as Amy said in one of her songs...."If you find someone who's tender,if you find someone who's true, then thank the Lord,He's been doubly good to you" 😊🙏❤ This is such a treat to watch and to reminisce.....thank you so so much for sharing this wonderful concert of Amy's with us. It reminded me of the dozen or more times i've seen Amy in concert over the years and the very special Christmas shows her and Vince do as well. He's an extra bonus to see and hear and what an incredible musician he is as well. Thank you for all the smiles this video brought me!! May God Continue To Bless You On Your Journey Through Life. 🙏 P.S. Soooo where's the sound at from 1:44:21 to the end? Just curious.

@@corrinagrantgill3236 I grew up in church in the 80's listening to her music! She was my absolute favorite! And she still is today. I have seen her in concert many times. My favorite concert was her Christmas concert in Cleveland Ohio with Michael W. Smith "Smitty" My husband took my Mom and I to see her! One of my all time favorite songs is Friends. They performed that song even though Michael had a cold! Ask her if she remembers that! My mom passed away in 2007 and I had this song played at her funeral, she loved it so much too! I will always be eternally grateful for the lifetime of wonderful memories she has given me! A few months ago my son who is a sophomore in college had to write an essay for music class about what his parents favorite concert was. Well guess which one he wrote about? Your Mom's! I still have the program. Absolutely priceless memories!

Amy's music is very soothing as it has been for the last 40 years (for me). I must admit, she lost me when she went into the mainstream music industry. I also got mad at her for divorcing Gary. I did not listen to her music for years. Of course, I saw and heard bits and pieces of her performances from "Heart in Motion" on the radio and tv, but I did not go out of my way to find it. Then one day it hit me! I thought, with the help of the Holy Spirit, Who am I to judge this woman? Also, I do not know the circumstances involved in her marriage. It's none of my business anyway. I started listening to her interviews and past concerts came into my feed. (like this one) I wish I went to this concert. I also saw the Age to Age concert in 1982 or 1983 virtually. I saw the duet she did with Gary and picked up on a few clues that their marriage was shaky. I understand they went to marriage counseling and tried to work things out. They were so young when they got married, and I believe people can grow apart. Yet, they were a good team musically, writing songs together. Some think it means they would automatically have a good marriage also. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I understand they wrote "I Will Remember You" which predicted their breakup. This was way before Vince Gill came on the scene. Now, I do not know the details of how she and Vince came together, but God can fix that too. All I know is they appear happy with each other. They also worked out forgiveness and reconciliation between their families. I saw a video of Vince's daughter performing with Amy on the Today Show. In another interview, both families, including Gary and Vince's former wife (sorry, I do not remember her name) and all the children were gathering for Thanksgiving! In an interview (don't remember if it was the same one) Amy discussed reconciliation among divorced people. It does not mean they would be reunited. I get that because holding onto bitterness would ruin a person inwardly. It is time to let it go and move on. Amy also said her greatest wish was to grow old with Vince. Now, if that is not love, I don't know what is. Now, regarding people who fell away from God because of her downfall, stop worshipping her! The Bible said put not your trust in man, but trust in God! It is OK to follow people who are on the right track, but when they go left field, get off!! I cannot tell you how many churches I left because the Pastor or other leadership were not right. (There were some churches that I left for other reasons, and the Pastors were great!) My mother and I used to watch the PTL club every night, but it did not shake my faith when Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker fell off the wayside. Now that was scandalous! I did pick up something in my spirit about them approx. a month before everything "blew up" and came to surface. The Bible warns about false prophets and idol worshipping. How can you tell who is true or false?II Timothy 2:15 Says to "Study to show thyself approved.....rightly dividing the word of truth." For those who cannot read, we all were given some measure of discernment, and there is the gift of discernment. If something does not feel quite right, pay attention to your gut! Check it out! As soon as Jim Jones (the cult leader in the late 70's) started getting rid of the Bibles, I would have been out of there. Unfortunately, by the time some people figured out what was going on, it was too late. Would you have been one of those people who was trapped in Guyana and forced to drink the "Kool-Aid"? As Aretha Franklin said in one of her songs, "You Better Think!" Now, getting back to Amy, Is what she and Vince did forgivable? How long do you think they have to pay the "penalty" for falling in love with each other? It appears that they have moved on and are happy together. Amy is thriving and ministering, as in this video. This concert was about six years after they got married, and I tell you, I was blessed by it. I'm sorry I was closed minded and did not really listen to her songs from "Heart in Motion." (Amy and I are around the same age.) I recently discovered those were nice and clean lyrics! (I did not care too much for the videos.) I see how she merged her older "religious" songs with her newer "girly" songs. Some people at that concert would probably never go to a church or Bible study, but they got some of God's Word at this concert. I missed out due to my own hang ups and being closed minded. While Amy and Vince are happy and moved on, the people who are "stuck" are some of us!

Amy has a beautiful voice but people are different. Personally, I find common folks the best in society simple man. I think it stemmed from childhood because there were so many friends worse off then me and I felt for them. Moreover, if you want to see BS, it is at the top end of society because you can't be worth anything as a person to become rich, and I have seen it many times fools in any profession ❤
