I loved this show. Perfect cast, great scriptwriting, but gotta be honest, the overall writing (plot, character dev etc) was subpar. Anne didnt have character development, e.g. in S1 she was terrified of being replaced by the Cuthberts, and then in the last season when she was going away to college she was still terrified of being replaced 🤨 like, wth gurl. What kinda conflict is that? She wasn't faithful to the spirit of book-Anne, too, she does a lot of shtty things like writing to Jeanie pretending she was Matthew, being a malicious gossip, and her temper tantrums were truly off the handle. And they made out like she was ill-bred because of how she was brought up at the orphanage, but they stretched out this angle and made Anne a truly insufferable girl. I'm so sorry they made Amybeth act out that script, because she was genuinely perfect for the role of (book) Anne.

everyone’s mad abt how anne with an e got canceled and how they r ‘the biggest anne with an e fan’ and i bet almost all of you don’t even know that theirs books and the books have an ending, and the books r better in my opinion. if ur so mad abt it being canceled go read the books.
