Happy Mothers Day Amy! It was so touching to me to hear that you have a garden in memory of Nikki. She was a very very special person. I still watch her videos every so often. I lost my spouse seven years ago. I was completely lost, as if half of me was just gone. All that got me through was the knowledge that I have the love of the Lord, and with him I can get through anything.

I'm married to a two time cancer survivor. For me the loss of Nicki was a "there for the grace of God" moment. Chet has been a trooper and I admire the strength he has shown in the videos since. I found it so hard to watch for a while. I am so happy to see him with a new partner. God bless Chet and the entire Larson family.

I totally understand what Doug was talking about that most of the things are not problems just things work will take care of but problems are like health issues and could see that when he was talking about Nikkis memorial garden with the hurt and sadness in his eyes as he talked, the garden is great

Eric said it's too bad we can't smell the dead fish. That reminds me of my wife when she smells things out of the fridge that are questionable and she says, "Eeeeewww! That stinks! Here, smell."

Interesting tidbit about the lake you live on. My mother who is now 106 grew up on a farm on the opposite side of the township from you. She told me she remembers they had such an extensive drought for a few years in the 1930s that farmers were actually farming the dry lake bed.

We down here in St Pete, Fl get this red algae they call red tide every so often and it stinks and kills all the fish just like you up north. You have a wonderful farm. Chet, Eric & Brody are a real hit to watch, each segment . I purchased grey TRX like Chet’s but it sits in my garage most of the time . Amy , Doug … Stay healthy and happy , that’s important.

Thanks for the tour. It is always fun to listen to you two. Life sometimes feels like it is full of dead fish, in my opinion, but the time is usually for a short while and then goes away. But it is not enjoyable at the time. The garden is a good idea and looks well thought out in its layout. Gardening is so good because it gives you time to slow down your thinking for a while and then ends up giving back beauty that renews itself every year. I have seen places where someone planned, planted, and enriched the soil. They leave their imprint for people to see long after they are gone. Hope you had a great mother's day.

I grew up with a stream running thru our property and every year the salmon came back to spawn. I know the smell all to well, our cats would drag fish all the way up under our porch and leave what the didn’t eat! It was my job to clean them up and put them in the garden so they could get disced up and then tilled under! Excellent free fertilizer!

Happy Mother's Day. I remember many years ago when they had a huge winter kill of fish on Lightning Lake north of Wendell. The smell was horrendous. You would just about have to hold your breath when you drove by. Love the memorial garden.
