Look at the comments...this is the reason why rock n roll is on its way to extinction,instead of supporting n promoting such talents,some of you are saying he doesnt deserve the fame n attention he is getting now but he is the coming generation,a hope to the art of rock n roll,shouldnt we be supporting more of these kids?why the hate?a true musician or a music fan never goes bashing other musicians art cos they know the hardship n dedication behind it...if you really respect music,respect the work of a musician even its not your taste,even if you are better than him/her.if you dont like it,click the video you prefer but pls dont spread the hate,spread the love

it's all jealousy, man. we all want to be the ones on stage shredding people's faces off. and another thing, if there's anything common musicians hate, it's prodigies. they were exposed to playing whatever they play at a young age without knowing about it and today, they're badass. there was a guy at my high school who was a 5 year prodigy when I was only 2 years experienced at the time. he got all of the attention and I barely got any. it's stuff like this that makes music a competitive world.
@bunimokjh8 жыл бұрын
This isn't talent, really. But, it is dedication, at an age where the only worry was to get home early from school to see dragonball z.
@bradfordstadsvold9468 жыл бұрын
I quit reading your novel about keeping rock alive halfway through when you said "a true musician or a music fan never goes bashing other musicians art cos they know the hardship n dedication behind it". Do you think this kid write Eruption? It's not his art it's Eddie Van Halen's and since when did you get to decide what a true musician is? That being said I agree that people should respect this kid more. I mean come on, it Eruption but it's not the end of the world if some people think he could've done better

I feel you dude. When I was in High school we had those performances/gigs every year. It was always so competitive of like who is better then who etc. I only played classical guitar for 1 year and then my dad lost his job so I never got any lessons outside from that. But I always felt so sad because I was worse then all the others kids who had nice guitars and actually got lessons. And also all the kids who got lessons got in those bands with the music school and had many gigs. Meanwhile I was still practicing Californication and Zephyr Song on my $75 guitar and Micro cube :(

Rap requires some talent but dance music requires absolutely no talent. DJs are talentless. They organize sounds which practically anyone that isn't tone deaf can do.

Antwan Jamison That's your fucked up opinion. Only because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't require talent skill or practice. Mike Turcsik Again, that's your opinion, you clearly know fuckall about "dance music" people study music and sound engineering before they can make "dance music" that sounds even remotely good. Everything takes skill, talent and practice. Nothing is just handed to you, there's nothing you can just do. Only because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't require talent. Jesus fucking christ the IQ of guitar related comment sections (same with most rap) is beyond frightening.

comment what you want about people being mean and hating on him but really the fact of the matter is he is insanely messy and lacks passion in everything he plays. He is by no means a prodigy and I'm not saying that to sound like a hating douche bag I'm saying that because it is pure fact and only people who know something about music can totally understand. The fact that some 10 year old kid can play a fast famous song insanely sloppily, but not sloppily enough for it to sound bad to people who know jack shit about guitar, does not make that kid a prodigy. Call me a hater. I don't care. I'm stating fact. Not hating.

You're talking about a kid... "Lacks passion"? He's what, 12? Maybe he's nervous. I can't imagine why. People are so encouraging when they don't like a song you're playing! And they're never, EVER critical...not even in the slightest... 😒
@JulianWorden9 жыл бұрын
Annie C okay if it would really make you happy to exclude the part about him lacking passion, even though he really does lack passion, we can do that but either way the fact of the matter is he is extremely sloppy. He adds parts into this song that arent even in it and the parts that he adds sound like shit. On top of that, he accidentaly plucked an open string like 20 times. You have absolutely no idea what youre talking about so just stop please. How do you know i dont like the song hes playing by the way? Dude...shut up. Either you like the melody, or you don't. We're not solving an equation or landing on the moon. People that say crap like that just come off as arrogant and stupid. If I never hear a kid play Eruption again, that's the proof God exists. Not against the kid (though I've heard better from asian girls much younger) but damn, there has to be SOMETHING else these tab tweens can figure out to impress others. It doesn't make you a prodigy to sit down in front of a computer and learn Eddie's piece. Most anyone dedicated to the guitar can do it if given the time and interest. To be honest, it's not difficult to play. It's Eddie's phrasing most struggle to duplicate. Fingers on dots is well, fingers on dots. That's the easy part. Anyways, I'd be more impressed, as others have noted, if he just initiated a backing track and improvised over it. These youtube eruption videos are like "paint the Pirate" exercises. True talent on guitar comes from creating, not copying and I'm sure the kid will get there. He's well on his way. Having said that, to call him a prodigy does a disservice to eight-year-old asian girls diming Yngwie note for note. Now THAT is impressive.

I am a teen right now and everyone constantly asks me to shred or whatever and I'm like, no. Although I can shred I got sick of doing it, and started playing songs like Just That Second by Rob Scallon (my latest learned song) Everyone is like wow that is cool, then they immediately start praising some youngster who can shred for like 10 minutes straight. Whop de doo, I don't mean to sound like a dick but shredding is a lot easier than everyone thinks, just because it is fast doesn't make it hard to play. I could speed up fucking hot crossed buns and improvise a shred and people like it more than a slow melodic song.

WTF ARE ALL OF THESE COMMENTS?!? Like “ is eruption all he knows” or “he’s nervous af!” You guys in these comments suck. Tapping my be easy but you guys need to stop hating on this kid. He probably worked hard to get this down.

He has talent but needs to learn something other than eruption. I don't see him as a prodigy

I've never heard a video like the original of a kid playing eruption that well.

I'll probably catch shit for this, but I would say this guy is far from a ''prodigy''. I don't really see playing someone Else's work (not to mention a work that has been played and copied by ''prodigies'' constantly, and on every video with the words guitar prodigy in the title) as qualifying someone to be a prodigy. Guys like Beethoven and Mozart where prodigies because they could not only play their instrument well, but also excelled at creating great works. If this kid could create then maybe he would meet the mark.

This kid is amazing, but I agree he is not a prodigy. To be a prodigy, you have to something original, and people have to like it. Although, the kid really has potential. Alice Cooper wasn't a prodigy until they released "eighteen".

PGProductions he is a prodogy becuase he can do this at such a young age when any of you can find another 11 year old to do this you can open your mouths but till them shut the hell up

Harlan Nikolov Coming from someone who can't even spell ''Prodigy''. He's not a prodigy. Guys like Mozart where prodigies. They wrote their own music at extremely young ages and played at highly advanced levels at extremely young ages. Does this kid compose and write his own music? No. He can play an overrated and overplayed van halen song. Woo. He doesn't meet up to the level of a prodigy. Get over it.

I think it's funny how so many of you are complaining about Eruption being crap. I'd sure like to see one of you so called "Professional" guitarists no one knows about come up with a song that changes the course of music. At the time this was a ground breaking solo. By todays standards? Not that great but in the late 70's it was a big deal. Just because you self important Trolls who have done nothing of influence or importance are tired of hearing it does not make it garbage. So go back to wondering why your mom hasnt brought any meat loaf to your basement Rock Emporium. Keep in mind the kid is 11.
