Monique Hassan I agree with u. But the hijab is to distinguish between Muslims and non Muslims or women who would keep pure and those who maybe don't care about purity. Women need a guardian to protect them when they travel bc hijab won't if someone wants to harm you. The lamest excuse for not wearing hijab is that others shouldn't judge them and they know they believe in Allah!? But there's no compulsion in religion. Allah guide all Muslims to what is best ☺

Also I feel there IS ambiguity.Firstly this verse refers to a certain time and situation,when Muslim women were being annoyed by hypocrites.The quran makes clear you should cover your chest but just because it says headscarves doesn't mean cover hair,women were already covering their hair.Hijab is actually causing women to get attacked and Muslim women who wear hijab still get raped,I'm sorry a piece of cloth can't stop criminals

Kris S youre right as this is totally a cultural problem. dont look at the relgion as faulty, but look at the faulted people who practice it. the men seem to be much more lustful towards women in general and this is because of the patriarchal culture surrounding these lands. if you look at the governments in power, they are secular in nature and dont actually follow islamic law like they claim to. in fact saying that these are "muslim lands" implies that these are proper islamic states. these men are simply very bad at practicing the faith that they speak so highly of. if you actually look at what islam teaches, the message is actually very beautiful, but look at the people said to represent this faith, its truly saddening to see such a poor representation of such a beautiful faith.

Quran is the words every Muslims mens and womens have to obey strictly. If the - Evidence from the Qur’aan of which : Allah says (interpretation of the meaning is true): “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means” [al-Nisa 4:34] it means - and Allah knows best - that men are held liable for handling the affairs of women and are responsible for the women under their care. A husband, therefore, has the responsibility of taking care of his wife, protecting her, defending her honor, and fulfilling her needs regarding her religion and her worldly life. I want to ask the real Muslims men only whoever can answer my questions decently without lying. Where were you lusted & shameless Muslims guys when on one occasions a huge Muslims womens including girls & infant(baby girls) were forced to stand fully naked in front of Kaaba in Mecca Medina? Why you guys just stand there helpless in front of those foreign enemies. None of a decent Muslim's men came out and help those helpless Muslim womens at that time. May I ask why? Are u guys all blind at that time. Didn't Allah says you hv to protect your own women when they are in need. Now after this incidence ,you forced the womens to wear burqa to represent modesty of Islam just because of this incidence happens which put u all Muslims guys in big shame? Is that true? Don't tell me oh I never heard of this stories b4. Didn't ur grand father told u this happens 100 yrs ago? Only one men with her pregnant wife came out to help these poor womens and yet these shameless what so call himself a real Muslims men just stand there and watch them both husband and pregnant wife being executed by foreigners.
