Hi Merrill, I think that thing you found at 04:14 might be the cutting tip for an oxyacetylene torch. I found one somewhat like it a few weeks ago, and identified it by uploading a photo to Google Lens, which is a surprisingly handy way to identify mystery objects, in case you hadn't known.

A red quarter is a thing. A restaurant or bar owner would paint some quarters red, and then use them in the jukebox or pool table. And when the money is collected, the red quarters are the owners, and they get them back.

Thank you for keeping it real. I am a long way from any saltwater beaches but I enjoy hearing your explanation of the art of beach metal detecting. I know that the field trips you take to farm fields and old homesteads are few and far between but if you're ever able to impart similar knowledge for those sort of sites, which I have an abundance, I'd be especially grateful.

Don’t stress that much on the likes and subscribers. the people you have that watch really enjoy what you make and everything you do. What an awesome day you had, congratulations. Also I’m so happy you got the manticore in, I really love you website and videos on metal detectors. You are the reason I chose to buy a legend and I’m extremely happy I did. I absolutely love that machine. Eventually in a year or so I’ll look into getting another one. But for now I’m enjoying the legend. You continue doing what you do best and this will grow. The charm was on my medi-alert bracelet which was changed today, I forgot the charm until I watched the video, I looked down and no silver on my wrist. I got it back, phew. Thank you so very much! I have been trying to start metal detecting for many decades. I have a specific limitation which makes it so I am very motivated and work hard at whatever my goals are but I reach the point where I need to make a decision and I am mentally locked. I have a very successful career in Engineering but this is a constant issue that a couple of my buddies privately help me with. (I love them for it). My family is not able to but your videos make it possible to proceed with a short list to present to them so I can have all of my family including my wife metal detecting! Just thank you, so sincerely. Now I am older at 62 and er are going to figure out what to do next.

Red quarters are from landlords to keep track for some reason. Also used by waitresses to put in jukeboxes in order to encourage patrons add their own quarters when music stopped. Found them before in change. Usually "older".

THIS is the quality content I treasure hunt KZfaq for! I appreciate what you're teaching us, here. I also want to celebrate your hard-earned finds 🍻 CHEERS! I've got two beaches I hunt with 8 live feeds on them. I'm constantly scouting my turf when I can't get out there and I'm not even kidding, there will be a dozen detectorists on the beach before I even make it there, and they're 90% on the wet sand. I tell my wife, 'They can't find it all.' But, I will hunt the towel line and have been finding fresh clad. IS THE COIN LINE THE SAME AS THE TOWEL LINE, OR ARE THEY TWO DIFFERENT ZONES? ...I'm still excited about clad because I'm still green, less than a year experience but, they're also spendable. I'VE GOT A VANQUISH 540 TO PAY OFF 🤣 Earning the payback has been motivational. Okay, this is getting long. Merrill, thank you! P.S. You're sense of humor has been an IV drip to keep me slogging through the KZfaq swamp for quality, authentic, people. Stay true!

You're doing Awesome!! I am getting ready to start my 54th year Metal detecting ( Dad started me at 4 in 1969) , saw one of those video's , laughed and said FAKE, lol . They are more of a comedy , not real ! Just wished I was in an area, like yours, where you have the opportunity to find more exciting very old history on a more regular basis !! Awesome day! You are absolutely correct, if the conditions are right you are present, the finds will be found. I mostly hunt inland/old parks. For me last year conditions were perfect, parks department took a bulldozer and scraped off 12 inches of dirt. My best silver day ever.

The red quarter….vendors, businesses, bar owners, arcades…..they would color their coins to be able to determine where in the business the coins were being used, a tracking mechanism of sorts. I’ve dug red, blue and green ones, obviously painted or dyed for this purpose.

It is truly next level. At the end of this video with the settings that I provided. A ring at 19 inches on the beach. That is absurd. I have not been able to replicate that on dirt, but I can’t see that I have mastered Deus 2 in the dirt yet.

The manticore thought is priced €1999 which is a bit high compared to $1599 don’t you think? So waiting for your updates on those two! Hello Merrill, I know this has nothing to do with the video I was curious if you know about the old Roosevelt race track. This track opened 1940 closed 1988 seems like this areas would be a great place to metal detect although it's located in Long Island not sure if that's a long drive for you and who knows it can possibly be developed by now .

Very close to it Larry! It is now a movie theater. A lot of concrete and fill dirt. When I was a teen I tried out working at that new movie theater but was transferred to one in the next town over.
