A quick video on how you can do an alternative method of receive alignment on any CB radio. Using any signal generator and a sinad meter.
The objective is to send a signal to the radio and achieve the highest sinad reading you can when adjusting the receive portion of the radio. The higher the reading, the better the sensitivity.
Thanks for watching. Make sure to like, subscribe, comment and click notifications on so you don't miss a new video !

Wow a TRAM. I haven't seen one on the list, swaps or shows in a long time. TRAM used to make excellent products and their radios are screamers in the right hands. I own a few TRAM antennas and in the process of buying a tri-bander for the tower topper. Gota say I am jealous. That is in fantastic condition for as old as it is. Definite keeper! Nice, very nice find. ✌

Hey there Pulsar CB Radio. How do you learn to align the receive of CB radios? I have been exposed to CB radios since I was a kid and while in school I borrowed a few books form the library about CB radio. The books from the library provide some information and school has some information to learn from but I have not developed confidence to align a CB radio. Do you have any advice on how to develop confidence to align receive on CB radios?

Hi , I have a couple of signal generators similar to your HP , (A Boonton and a Logimetrics), unfortunately they do not have that "frequency lock button ", have you any idea whether this frequency lock button/circuit would be complicated to add to my sig gens ?( the later Boonton models actually had the "lock" button feature.) I'm not sure if it's possible. These sig gen could be ordered in a variety of options. Prob be easier and cheaper to find one with the option already installed

Did you plug the Sinadder wires into the external speaker jack when adjusting the Radios sensitivity?
@pulsarcb
@pulsarcb 3 ай бұрын
I have two sets of wires connected to the external speaker. One set goes to the radio external speaker port and the other set goes to the sinadder

What is 106 the same as in microvolts? I have always heard that .5 microvolts or less is a good sensitive reciever

-106 dbm is equivalent to 1.12 uV Its not bad but it could be better. .5 uV or -113 dbm is a great receiving radio. The standard most techs go by if there's no sinad specs is -110 dbm or .7 uV Of course these specs are for AM 73s

If you’re demonstrating how you should show how it’s all hooked up , for instance Sinad hooks to what . Speaker , generator to what . Coaxial input . Not a criticism just a suggestion.

It was more a different way to align receive with a sinadder rather than what the manual says. Not really a how-to video. However, I have a how-to video as well.

Hey there. Quick question. When you say 106 on the signal generator it looks like it goes to 105. Is there a scientific reason for that? Paul.

The output knob goes in increments of 10dbm. The fine knob in the middle will adjust in increments of 1 dbm. So those are added together to get a total.
