Saturday's assassination attempt on Donald Trump is widely viewed as the Secret Service's biggest failure since 1981, when a gunman shot President Ronald Reagan just over two months into his first term. Reagan was hospitalized for nearly two weeks. Three other people were injured, including Reagan's press secretary James Brady, who was shot in the head and left partially paralyzed. Brady and his wife Sarah would go on to become prominent gun control advocates pushing for a bill that became known as the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act. Brady was also involved in a gun control organization that changed its name to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, now known simply as Brady. "Reasonable and appropriate gun violence prevention measures save lives," says Kris Brown, the president of Brady. Brown advocates for critical gun control measures that would interrupt the Republican Party's vision of "guns everywhere, for anyone, at any time."

Concealed Carry Reciprocity means that If one has a license to carry concealed in a state, then that license is honored in other states. So someone who has been granted the privilege to carry a concealed handgun in Virginia can carry in a majority of other states, due to the similarity of laws amongst those states.

Way less likely that a vet will seek help if he/she is worried they're rights will be taken away with no due process. Also alot of these local ccw permit processes disproportionately deny minorities who apply. Not to mention, I dont need a permit to exercise my 1st amendment RIGHT! The constitution says "well regulated milita" hun, give reading a try. And you can say whatever you want, but words gave consequences. Try to threaten someone or call in a bomb and see how the judge feels when you explain your 1st ammendment rights (which btw, only mean that the GOVERNMENT cannot censor you). No other modern western democracy has adopted anything similar to USA's amendment. It is one of the fundamental contributors to the US population's attitude toward firearms. Contrary to your simplistic dismissal of it as stupidity, many serious people have advanced it as being integral to the problem and solution.

Please always double check facts and remember to think too. I just want to defend against the silencer comment which somehow got linked to police? It was invented for use on cattle, then Maxim made a U.S. patent and eventually mufflers for automobiles. I have heard that police and military use them to "hush puppies" before a raid, but that has nothing to do with the origins of the device.

She was referring to the National Firearms Act of 1934 which states: “The terms “firearm silencer” and “firearm muffler” mean any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, and any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.”

Her reference to the law was then followed up with a direct implication that the civilian sector is the one demanding and using them without aknowledging the majority of the use on living beings historically or currently. She next implied that police will respond to that sort of noise and that lack of noise is slowing them down. Perhaps in your white-bread world the po**ce will come every time your lawn gnome falls over but that's not true for everyone, there is more than just your clan out here. My point still is that the majority of demand and wholesale of these tools is not for and by the people as much as the arist****tic gord-d*gs. Dude, it's been known for YEARS that tv and games and such don't a violent person make. Lots of studies, due diligence. Go to google, type does violence in pop-culture cause violence. Look around a bit. studies abound. You see, I have to change MY pov due to changes since I last time I did my own due diligence regarding this topic. Seems violent media can encourage people who are already violent. Things change all the time so what we knew yesterday, might not apply today.
