I was once really craving some pickled onion space raiders but they only had beef. I bought them anyway and as I started to eat them, had the pleasant surprise that they were pickled onion in the wrong bag. Someone said are you like the Jesus of space raiders or something instead of changing water to wine lol

@@imhereforit2475 this is brilliant 🤣 the beef ones really aren’t that great either. I also highly recommend the salt and vinegar hula hoop flavarings. Best crisp going for me at the moment, great texture

If you put prawn in the name and given there's an actual dish called prawn cocktail that well, uses prawns, it's a little easy to get confused. I understand that the flavor here is describing the sauce that's used in the actual dish?

@@mosescho6896 What should help eliminate confusion is that the crisps are clearly labelled as vegetarian (and I’m fairly “vegetarian prawn” is not a plausible concept). But, yes, I do agree that the naming is not ideal, but I can’t really think of a better one! 🤷‍♂️ Yes, exactly! Prawn-cocktail crisps are flavoured with the sauce often used in the dish “prawn cocktail”, but that gets often misinterpreted as ‘a cocktail of prawns’ (or words to that effect) instead.

If the bag's vegetarian label is not large enough, and the fact that people can interpret "prawn cocktail" as possibly having hints of prawn taste along with the sauce (especially if they're foreigners), why are you so defensive over it? Surely you wouldn't be on such a pedestal and knowledgeable if you were to experience other cuisines :)

@@xeruwynn8987 I’m not defensive of it at all; I’m saying that people should make the (in this case tiny) effort to check what something *actually* is rather than just taking everything at face value. (And, no, the vegetarian label is fairly large; it’s just that most people don’t bother turning the packet the other way to see it.) (And I have experienced many other cuisines as part of my worldly travels; I always check what something is when considering new foods.)

I don’t think it matters why it’s called it? He still didn’t like the flavour did he, didn’t impact his judging. And if the packing says prawn cocktail flavoured, it is implying it carriers prawn as a primary flavour profile. I’ve grown up with this flavour as a kid but you need to be a bit more understanding of foreign palettes and backgrounds I think - prawn cocktail is pretty unique to us Brits (and yes I love them - Skips are god tier)

Yeah that’s not really true. Nice and Spicy crisps have been around since the 90s - back then, they were considered spicy or spiced for a crisp flavour. They just haven’t changed the flavour, as it has a solid customer base. Nothing to do with not eating spicy food - most people I know these days put hot sauce on everything like a condiment!

@@redeye1016 oh my I’ve literally come across your comment almost the same as what I said to nice n spicy back then was a crazy flavour of sorts it strayed from the salted c&o n s&v standard of the time and probably was the quite spicy it was more of a tangy flavour but as a kid I didn’t like them they seemed spicy to me

I'm American and my favorites are Starbar, Bounty, Dairymilk, Galaxy Bar, Lionbar, Malteser teaser bar, picnic, boost and KitKat chunkie. I've tried over 35 bars easily but those ones are the ones I continue buying because I'm in love. Also love many of your biscuits. I bought some cakes since I never tried any so I have Mr Kipling Angel slices, Viennese whirls and French fancies on the way. As well as a couple popular crisps like rib n saucy/flamin hot nik naks.

@@sneer0101 generally in the crisp world especially in the uk in the 90’s spicy means hot although I know myself that there are many other spices rather than just chilli -thanks for clearing that up

We're an island, surrounded by rich fishing grounds and sea food is a big part of our national diet... hence, sea food flavours are a thing here. Hope that helps. All the best.
