Dude I struggled with that so much on my first go-around with the dlc when it came out. That felt like such a huge accomplishment, killing Loran Darkbeast in the cursed chalice dungeon in Bloodborne was my number one conquest in these games though. It took me 3 days of 6-8 hours a day trying before I finally beat it and the elation I felt from that has never been topped in my 40 years of existence😫🤌
@2joa0003 ай бұрын
You hear about Artorias so many times throughout the game that when i found out the DLC was about him i was very sure we would meet him as a NPC or something towards the end of it all. I remember when i got to the arena and it turned out to be a boss fight against a mad Artorias so early onto the DLC I still had some sort of hope or expecation that I would meet the "real" Artorias at some point. And as i progressed and realized that was it and later on when told that the legend of Artorias was actually all you the player all along was so dawning. The fact the game managed to build this narrative and expectation, making me really feel surprised and scared about it all with such a limited ammount of dialogue and exposion is genius to me. Because if you look at it with a non player or fan perspective, like a person watching the game without much attention it won't seem like nothing out of the ordinary. But when you are playing immersed in such universe it reallt feels so grand.

You nailed exactly how I feel about the way the game immerses you. It is definitely the most effective game I have played for that reason.

For my, artorias is the most perfect boss in dark souls franchise. Amazing lore, amazing and simple boss fight, amazing design, amazing dogo friend, amazing AI. I'm just said they removed Artorias lines in game, gives you way more depth. But I get it, doesn't make sense for him to be the only boss that speaks to you during the fight.
@LavenderRex77053 ай бұрын
I definitely get how Artorias's dialogue could add to him but I also like what no dialogue is able to convey. His AI is truly incredible you're right. It feels like you are fighting another player.

Hello son, it is me.... I apologize for not commenting in your last sopranos episode, my journey to the milk store was a dangerous and treacherous journey. And by that I mean I got mugged 3 times in a 2 hour time span, the last one the guy just took my shoes, they weren't even expensive or anything they were 7 year old worn down loafers. I think he was mentally ill and confused them for a divine relic. But I saw in your last video you have discord installed on your laptop, this gives me hope my son. I pray you shall soon be ready for the interview of a life time. - Dad, with love.

Fuck I love dark souls 1 so much. It’s such a unique gem. Fromsofts other games are great don’t get me wrong but I will never love anything they make as much as ds1. Bloodborne is the closest and I think it’s because it’s the game that feels the closest to ds1 in tone and design, which makes sense given how close the 2 were in their development but I love dark souls 1 so much. I hope one day it gets a demons souls level remake. It’s so bittersweet because I’m glad ds1 exists but I’m so sad from will probably never make anything like it again. They clearly have narrowed their formula down to where they want it but I’d love to see them really experiment and make something weird and out there again where it’s clear that it’s just a singular vision being taken to its furthest point.
@LavenderRex77053 ай бұрын
I think titles like Sekiro and AC6 show that FromSoft is still experimenting but I do understand with a game like Elden Ring it does feel like they've narrowed their design. I think they just got a little more precise but with Armored Core seeming to be back I think they are gonna be unafraid to get a little more out there with what they develop.

Cutting his dialogue was a smart move. Meanwhile, 75% of the bosses in ER are ranting to you about cringe obscure lore. I still love that game, but man that new DLC just emphasized all my issues with their design choices. Dark souls had something truly special about it. Something they’ve failed to fully capture again.
