This was nice to watch, dude. I enjoy hip hop but I'm not super into it, and today I've been considering working on some beats for fun to see where it goes (I produce other types of music.) Out of nowhere, you hit me with the mom having cancer thing and that you're making the best of being at home. Well, that's *exactly* my situation. I'm out here in the middle of nowhere, mom going through chemo, neither of my parents doing all that great. Totally isolated in a house where I've set up shop in the basement where my grandmother used to live, slowly slapping together a studio situation that I'm sure many people would be jealous of, and/but it gets pretty rough. This was really inspiring, motivating, and a really nice surprise. Subscribing to you, thanks for the video bud. This is "below my level" in terms of skill, but some good little bits in here that were helpful - but it's nice to just check out the situation with things when it's a new genre, etc. Looking forward to checking your other videos. It's also inspiration to maybe start that youtube channel I've been thinking about. Best wishes and luck to you bud. I’ve always been into music. It was a dream of mine but I got lost in some sort of darkness. I got into photography and videography but there’s something that’s pulling me back towards music. It’s always been a passion of mine since my middle school days. I came across your videos and I always found them entertaining and informative in unique and genuine ways. But this video really touched me in a personal way. Like if I was in your crib and you were telling me a bit about yourself after we were making some beats or something. I see people on here making videos about cooking up some beats and how they did it but you show your true self you do it in a unique way that I enjoy and appreciate so much. If you have fl studio you can use the button which gives you a choice of different minors and majors and then you click it in and it will give you all the notes for that minor or major in that octave.

I like to listen to you. I know how it is when you have to struggle in life with problems etc. I do it through my all life and from couple months for reasons beyond my control I have to struggle again, long story. At least somewhere around March/April, this year just by accident I started with music and it helps me to somehow overcome depression and don't just end this all. Dark music it's what I like. I want to move emotions through music to let others feel how much pain/hopelessness can be inside someones mind when on the outside you can see a nice happy guy, but after all it's only a mask for society.

The Halloween sounds you were talking about; sound the way they do because they are more dissonant. The scales or modes you would want to use for a "dark" melody would be minor scale (harmonic and or natural), Dorian, aeolian, and Locrian. For the Halloween sounds, you would want to use a phrygian mode or a diminished scale. This is also a good intro to learning modal interchange and secondary dominants, and relative minors. Minor 2-5-1 never fails to get people to open up.
