3 years ago I let my daughter change my blue hydrangeas to cotton candy pink using the old Irish trick my grandpa did to give my gran her favorite pink hydrangeas. 3 rusty nails in the soil at the roots. But I made it a homeschool science project so I made her predict what color she would get. Was she right? What changes did the nails make to the soil to accomplish this result? 3 years later they are still the prettiest shade of pink & the ONLY pink ones in our neighborhood.

Egg shells take a looong time to break down the way you put them. Might I suggest grinding them up with a kitchen grinder? Works very well. Turns them into a fine powder that can better mix with the soil. 👍

Dry and grind the eggshells. Leaving them in big chunks doesn't do much as they take a long time to decompose.

I gave each of my pink hydrangea 3 servings each of coffee grounds late winter and they did change from pale pink to bright pink. Now these bids formed last year so hopefully the second flush will see more blue. But I will keep adding coffee grounds

But remember: it must be fresh coffee - Cooked coffee grounds lose the nutrients.

This never worked for me. I add rusty nails for the blue niko to be vibrant and some of my pinks are designated pink so they dont change, but summer crush will change.

Actually we should have to add base into the soil so that the blue hydrangea converts to pink or purple we can use egg shell and ilme But in order to contained blue hydrangea plant we should add something acidic substance like coffee Orange peels lemon etc

Do more research on how to crush the shells properly for your garden. That way does not and will not do anything. Good luck on your garden. It’s all about learning through mistakes. Your garden will be amazing.
