As an American both countries have UNBELIEVABLE gorgeous women but if want the G.O.A.T. of vocal prowess Morissette has no equal and the Phillipines is like a VOCAL vending machine. Unreal talent there and Mori is the tip of the sword.

This song is older than Morissette, written in 1988. It was part of a gospel musical called First Name. That's why you're getting musical, "Prince of Egypt" vibes. The lyricist (Freddie Santos) passed away December, 2020. As you can read from the description in the video, they decided to re-imagine, re-arrange First Name as a tribute to Freddie Santos.

Gary V, posted in the comment section of this video, as well as one the the team members there, stating, how it was very emotional to film, and at one point all broke into tears and redo the shot. Dave's parents are very religious, Christian Missionaries that run a orphanage south of Manila , and though Mori has always embraced a faith in God , now that faith has grown stronger.

I rarely post but I feel compelled to say rarely have I ever been so moved by a song. The level of artistry is utterly breathtaking but beyond that it reaches into that part of me that is so vulnerable but never shown. This opened up my heart and spirit to the point of tears and I am even now too emotional to say much more. These questions are all questions I have asked .myself thousands of times. We all have and now I understand I am not alone--never alone-- Jesus is messiah to me and now I understand it is alright to open up my spirit to one that TRULY cares and loves me with all my faults, fears and even despair. Yes, Iam not aline. Thank you Morrisette for your stunning artistry but more that your sweet and tender spirit. I am grateful to God for you. You have renewed my faith and given voice to my most deep and inner prayers.

We always enunciate our consonants. This is very typical for us when we speak English. Sounds are always enunciated. I would say it is natural for them because the way we speak English is like that as well. In school, the main language used when learning all subjects is English. We only learn Tagalog as a subject or perhaps sometimes filipino history is taught in Filipino but the rest of subjects are taught in English.

the diction or the pronunciation for the Filipinos are quite easy to learn since we have 115 local dialects. normally filipinos can speak 2 or three dialects, there is something in the tongue or its placing that made it easy. that is why when we speak english the pronunciation is clear.

You've brought up great points about how the theatrical aspect of the video complemented the emotions of the video. The choice of black & white also enhanced the vulnerability of the whole message. One thing vocal coaches teach in the Philippines is diction especially when you are singing a different language. How to flex certain words to go with the melody and still not losing the meaning. But yeah.. The standard of singing in the Philippines is really high. And diction is one of the basic that you must learn. Thank you for pointing that out.
@carrastrawberry42

Not all Filipinos have good pronunciation when talking, however majority are well aware of proper pronunciation. The only difference when talking and singing is the speed of delivery. You have all the time to practice the proper pronunciation when singing. Plus when you are trained professionally, pronunciation and/or enunciation is not neglected.

English is the media of teaching in the Philippines. We are taught reading and phoenix, grammar and literature starting from kindergarten especially in private schools. It is only when someone goes to other countries that the twangs are adopted by some. Like Lea Salonga, she can speak the British way when in London, when in New York she speaks with the American accent. Even those deprived of school can speak English.
