The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

Rumor has it that Scully is gonna be dead.....(actress original intentions) and then once in a while they can bring her back as a guest cameo in honor of being his mother (William) and Muldors wife..... interesting future twists since even in death they may come back.... and government knows they can do stuff like this.

I dunno why but after the announcement that Gillian was leaving I've kept thinking they are going to pull some sort of 6th Sense-type twist about Scully and reveal that she's actually been dead since S11 began or some spooky, crazy thing like that. But I know that isn't possible given the episodes and the things she and Mulder have done both separately and together, right? Right?!?!? :S

Actually I'm secretly hoping that originally both actors have signed a deal for a certain number of episodes and now that Gillian has revealed she wont be playing Scully anymore, that they've shot a remaining number of episodes already in advance. So,they'll have one more mini-season next year... I don't think Gillian's gonna change her mind,but.....maybe she's playing a word trick on us. That she wont be playing Scully anymore,but that maybe something happens in the finale which causes her to become another person/identity?......ok I admit,that's just a wacky theory,but a girl can dream. :P

I am 14 going on 15 and ever since my dad introduced me to this show i have been attached.it sucks the originals are gone from netflix while i was on like season 4 or 5.So if the originals do come back ill have to go digging through what season i am on and what episode.For the time being imma enjoy this.

I swear, to all that's pure and holy- and i have this horrible feeling since Anderson confirmed this is her final go at it, and this is called the "season finale," NOT the series finale that this suspicion may come to fruition... IF they finally FINALLY have Mulder and Scully define a relationship, especially after how Shippy this season has been, just to gut us all by killing off Scully I swear to GOD i will be so so fucking angry Omg-- i can already hear my feminist rant starting about killing off a strong female character that we grew up admiring... omg Ok I need to not go there But I swear I SWEAR it would be some twisted ass shit-- Carter finally giving the shipper fans what they want only to laugh and take it away. I will not watch the show if it goes this way and then there's a season 12. I respect Anderson way too much. And I'm over the whole bs about them trying to pay her less and not hiring female writers at first-- if my premonition about the end comes true- I'm gonna be like "peace out." Only it will probably involve a whole lot more swear words.

Its sad in a way the show is over,but I'm also kinda happy about it. Its crazy,i got back into before season 11 was even announced,and I still am. But it's kinda crazy binge watching it,every episode Scully comes up with a simple explanation of what's going on,Mulder comes up with a crazy folklore conspiracy theory,everybody says he's crazy,and then he ends up being right. Idk if the shows more about his crazy theories,or how he gets screwed over and over again. Watching season 5 now,and I'm sitting here thinking after 4 and a half seasons of Mulder being right,Scully is still like "no way Mulder,thats crazy,theres no scientific proof of that even being possible".

They better have some reference to Dogget, its like they completely forgot about him altogether, I know Robert Patrick was busy with another TV show but they could at least reference him in some way in an episode and they better resolve Reyes, she was way out of character, they better have a good reason for her turning bad.

Spoilers have been leaked, the finale will be a whole mess again, you'll be very disappointed to what is going to happen to Reyes! Lazy writing on CC's part again, lots of gun shooting and Mustang scenes instead of a solid conclusion! Maybe when GA is 80 and out of a job, she will consider coming back and maybe CC will give us a suitable end once and for all!
