An enormous Alaskan dog Dawang, is surprisingly afraid of the sound of firecrackers!

Today in the village, someone was setting off firecrackers, and the King, despite his massive build, was frightened and took refuge behind the platform near the water pool. Penjie and Ahao took turns comforting him until he finally emerged. Eventually, Laifu appeared to keep Dawang company. The firecracker noises in the village also stopped, and the two dogs happily played together once more.

To see the worry Dawangs family has, is rightfully so. Big dogs and even some little ones are so terrified of loud noises it can cause our fur babies to have a stroke 😢 or even worse. So disrespectful to let off firecrackers not on a holiday. 😢 I can't imagine the stress 😬 it put on all of you..grr 😡 rude people!!!

貓狗的听觉是人类的26倍，燃放鞭炮/煙火/煙花之类的聲音都會对牠們造成傷害，嚴重会躲在牆角桌底下兩三的星期，有香港社工反映，逢过年过节，元宵節，替貓狗收屍是平時的十多倍，流浪在外貓狗听炮声隆隆会令牠们到处快速的乱窜，因而惨死在公路。

Awe! Dawang don’t like the Fireworks poor baby♥️I ♥️how Apenji and Axia cares for Dawang so he won’t be afraid♥️♥️♥️Dawang finally come out and stays close by Apenji, Laifu comes to his big brother’s aid, he don’t like the Fireworks either but he seems to be okay.♥️♥️Most dogs are afraid of Fireworks, keeping them in the house is the safest place so they don’t run away scared.

He need a safe spot... A tight confinement spot. Maybe a crate with all sides cover up with blanket. When dogs are scare they like to hide in tight space.

Poor big baby is scared of the big scary noises. I don't blame him. They love them so much so they cater and spoil him. He is loved by them all and it shows.

I really empathized with Dawang in this video. As a young boy, I suffered from Hyperacusis for some time. Loud noises such as firecrackers would actually hurt my ears. I would dread every Fourth of July when my parents would take the whole family out to watch the local fireworks display, practically having to drag me along with them.

Oh my goodness, my collies are SO afraid of fireworks too! but you know, that is smart! The sound is terrible for them & they smell the burning, they are afraid. Need to put them in safe quiet places. Sweet Dawang, love him!

I guess every dog is afraid of fire crackers,even here in the Philippines,dogs take cover during new year's eve where the are lots of fire cracker .😢😢😢😢

Most dogs are scared of fire cracker's sound and thunder. It's natural. Sometime they even run away from home too to avoid firecracker's sound. Just comfort him(Dawang).My 3 pooches🐕🐕🐕 are scared of fire crackers and thunder.

Dawang is a giant dog and have giant ears. So the way he listens to loud sound is different from Laifu. Dawang have giant receiver of sounds because of his giant ears.. It must really scared Dawang a lot looking at his curled down big tail. Give Dawang some water and a bit sweet snack to calm him down.

It must be so very tiring taking care of a large breed like Dawang along with Laifu on top of having to film all these videos and the chores. The entire family seems to have boundless energy.

We have to remember their hearing is a lot better. He’s really anxious here. He was trying to just find a place to hide that was covered and he felt safe. The best thing to do is to either 1. try and distract them before the noise starts (if you can, it might be hard). Doing exercises, catch, a ball. 2. Providing a “hidey hole” that they can go to during times like these.

My yorkie used to borrow herself under our couch during any kind of thunderstorm. She would shake and tremble so much there really wasn’t anything you could do but let her find her hiding spot and be around so she could smell you and hear that you’re there. Once the storm passed she would crawl out. She actually grew out of it as she got older but I think you just have to let dogs be dogs 🫶🏾

Yes, dogs hearing are very sensitive. To compare, a firecracker going off tens of meters away, would compare to the sound of a bomb going off next to a human.

I suggest you build a tiny home for him where he can hide in case theres fireworks going I had a dog also afraid of firecrackers I build him his hideout home where he can hide and sometimes I accompany him sometimes dogs needs help or put him some kind of towel in his ears wrapped him so he can't hear the noise
